| The Bandra Fair that is synonymous with the pilgrimage that takes place for a week starting from the Sunday following the feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary on 8th September. People belonging to different faiths and languages throng to this small hill that has the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount. But another attraction is the fair which is attended by people of various strata of society. Apart from commoners even telly actors have loved this fair. Madhura Naik: I am really looking forward to the fair. I like that in this fair so many people from different caste and religions come and participate in fair. I also like the whole idea of lighting candles. My fondest memories I remember is last year I had gone with my friends and we were so lost in the different stalls that we forgot that main door of the church was close and we all had to climb from the gate. |
