Dev and forgiveness...

I'm relatively new to this forum, so please don't cast stones! 😊

One thing that is bothering me is the hate for the Dev character. Not that he doesn't deserve it. He's a total slimeball. What he did was absolutely wrong. No question about that.

But where does forgiveness come in? Haven't we all done really dumb things? Haven't we all hurt another person whether intentionally or unintentionally? Have you never realized that you caused great pain to another person and wanted forgiveness? Has your heart never changed? Have you never wanted to become a better person?

It appears that Dev really is sorrowful for what he has done to Geet. It's not a ploy. So at what point do you stop hating him (or the actor) and start to be glad that he is trying to change?

I'd love your thoughts...

the problem is, if he confesses to Maan abt Geet fiasco, Maan may try to bring Geet and Dev together as Naintara is not there anymore...

that sounds possible since maan is dev's big bro n in serials older siblings sacrifice for the young ones but maan should think about wat geet wants if the story even reaches maan geet n dev confronting each other anytime soon

It's not about what we want to happen or not happen within the story. If the Dev character is truly repentant, should he not be given a second chance? Within the framework of the original question, the story is irrelevant.

Can we as viewers forgive Dev for his sin?

Its like you are asking that after killing a person, can you say sorry and ask for forgiveness to that person , who is dead now ?

hey he isn't really sorrowful......he just wants 2 escape d wrath of his brother....hoping dat he would forgive his crime..... he thinks it's a mistake.... not as a sin...... if he tells about wat he did 2 geet 2 maan..... then he would only say like NT forced him 2 get remarried n all.... so dat he can come out of d trouble n he can blame NT...... he is not really sorrowful.... he wants 2 b protected from any punishment... n he knows dat his brother will do anything 2 protect him....he doesnt know geet is pregnant becoz of him.... if he knows then he also would have flown away 2 canad or someplace where he thinks maan wouldnt be able 2 catch hold of him........

till d marriage it was ok.... he could have been forgiven..... who asked him 2 sleep with her.... NT??? nah.... he did it 2 satisfy his own desires........for dis crime he can never be forgiven......

as for abhinav..... abhi is really good.... he is playing d charcter 2 d T.....we love him...... it's just his character we hate..... in reality we know he is an awesome guy.....really humble n all too..... we dont hate abhi.... it's dev whom we hate..... n dev is unforgivable......

What happens if, after falling down running after Maan, Geet miscarriages and loses the baby. According to your line of thought, Maan cannot be forgiven. Right? How can he say sorry and ask for forgiveness? The baby is dead now. End of Geet and Maan love affair. Right?

Not trying to be a pain, just wanting to know where you draw the line on forgiveness. Do you forgive the hero, but not the villain? The villain got her pregnant, the hero was the cause of her babies death. Where is the line?

what Dev did was more than just a fault....we all do mistakes but not like this....ruining someones life like that...poor Geet went through pain....her studies, her dreams, her goals in life all ruined because of Dev.....Cant forgive him that easily

playing with an innocent girl's life - is not to be forgiven....Imagine what would have happened to geet if she would not have met maan ?

Dev - can not be forgiven - not in reality and not in fiction....

Plus what will be left to watch in the serial, if geet forgives him 😡

Exactly. Geet was about dead if not for Maan, not once but twice... I would have still forgiven him had he just fled away with the money leaving her behind but he literally played with her life and left her in such a delimma that even her family did not support her...

I don't think Dev can be forgiven.
