so today we have two factions on this forum....Maan and Geet...😕!!
Aren't we famous in the whole world as Maaneetians...so how did Maan and Geet become two different identities today...two individuals that need such passionate advocates....some are blaming Geet and pointing fingers at her words and manner of confession...while some are calling Maan names...
Just wanted to request that put yourselves in their shoes just for a minute....viewers who are blaming Geet...imagine being an 18 year old...family abandoned...fake married...pregnant with a child that the world and society will never accept or recognise...trying to put the pieces together...then u meet a man...a saviour and gradually you fall in love deeply irrevocably...and because of this man's behaviour hope rises in your heart, you feel cherished, loved and capable of love and trust again..this man again and again states that he will be with you through thick and thin, loves you the way you are, and asks you to open your heart and answer his questions repeatedly...and then you reach a stage...a confession, he is openly and fearlessly seducing you, making you loose all senses, you are practically forced to succumb to this master of romance and his relentless campaign on your heart, mind and now body....and at that stage, when he asks you to open your heart, what comes out is not well planned or rehearsed or thought....it is the thought uppermost in your mind...the biggest problem of your life....the biggest truth...life shattering...what do you do....you just blurt it out..coz its there staring you in your face..all the time...its a reaction..not a court argument well prepared and rehearsed in advance...
In defence of Maan....the man is soo deeply in love...hurt before..badly scarred and was so bitter and afraid to trust...he gradually brought himself to stop fighting it...accept it...and now wants this love in his life...he has tried every thing...in his book to win her over...to get her to trust him..to confess..he knows she loves him as deeply as he deserves..its in her eyes all the time...and at this moment...he wants to hear her say it...open her heart...he desperately wants to hear the feelings raging in her heart...coz they are mirrored in his...he has dreamt of ..fantasized of...waiting patiently for this moment....and then...what he hears is....shattering...he is in shock...when you are in such a state your first thought...i wanna be alone...u dont think...just react...it takes a while for something this enormous to sink in....he has not yet even realised the implications, consequences or enormity of her statemet...he is just numb...and like a wounded speechless animal wants to lick his wounds in private...just wants some peace...no voices...no intruders....give him time...time to feel..cry....hate....get furious....get disappointed...come to terms...argue with his heart and with his mind...drain himself with emotions...and then think..coz logic in such shocks comes last...
The cvs have tried to make these characters as human as they can be...and thats why we love them....lets not be judgemental...lets just be ourselves..

Okayz..I totally understand what you mean..I feel the same too but I can help it..Geet should have aborted that child in the first place...Any sane girl would do that...actually,it is kind of expected from a Indian drama actress...only in dramas people don't abort their child coz of maa ka pyaar and all that..I know 100 people are going to throw jootis on me but it is my true feeling...For Maan,I think he should reflect, think about why Geet did this....I know his reaction was kinda expected coz I mean this is a serial and moreover, they wouldn't want to solve things so fast...Now he will go home...lock himself up...cry...try to become the old angry self again and ignore Geet but though it'll be hard for him,he'll not show Geet anything..Geet perhaps would just leave but since Dev is there..she might first slap him and then tell him the truth...
Whatever that happens,I just hope all is well....I am really devastated after Friday's episode...I cried a lot in bed after watching the episode and drifted off to sleep..Such a horrible gift for EID....

Thanks eveline...at last a good article that can soothe our wounds. I guess everybody is mourning over either for Geet or for Maan...yes I agree they both are hurt.....we should not expect Maan to be a 'Mahan aadmi' every time....even he has his weaknesses and Geet just wanted to say the truth irrespective of how bitter it would be. And Maan himself said, " Geet tum hamesha such bolti ho chahe kisi ko achacha lage ya bura...aur yahi baat mujhe pasand hai"...but guys do you notice...Geet was not expecting this reaction from Maan .....she extended her hand towards him to stop him.... and poor Maan, he was not expecting this at all....Love ke badle yeh kya mila?

Both are heartbroken not once but twice.....so their actions, reactions and emotions are justified...Good analysis eveline and good work CV.

I did. Even I agreed that it was fair for Maan to be shocked and hurt, but I don't know why people keep blaming Geet for everything! Speech to actions, it's all her fault!

yes, it hurts like hell....i have been upset the whole day...and will be out of sorts the whole weekend...but everything comes at a price...as they say no pain no gain....so we loved the romance....now we have to pay the price for the happy ending we all are used to and desperate to see....

@Eveline: That's a fantastic analysis. I'm still a MaanEetian! I know we've all been hurt by wat happened in the epi last night but come to think of it, we did not really expect Maan to just accept Geet's past just like that. Though he kept saying that he doesn't care abt her past but hello, this is HUGE!

And moreover, if Maan just accepted the truth widout a single word, that just wouldn't do! I mean, it's so unlike Maan! And also there'd hardly be anything in the show. The essence of Maan's charachter would be lost. Love has changed him, alright but that doesn't mean he'd just become a lovesick Romeo and accept everything that's hurled at him. He's only human with a heart that bleeds and which has also been previously broken!

About Geet, I agree wid every word you said. She had come to believe that Maan was her world and bcoz he always kept telling her that he didn't care abt the past, and also that Truth and Faith were the essentials in a relationship of love for him, she decided to open her heart for him and bare her innermost secrets. This was not totally the reaction she expected of him. She might have been wrong in telling him abt her past when he'd been expecting her to proclaim her love but wat could she do when he was so getting so romantic with her. Telling her that he trusted her and loved her. That she was special?!

I don't blame either Maan or Geet! Both have been through crude and rough times in life and when they thought that they'd finally found comfort and solace in each other's company, Geet's past just wreaked havoc for both of 'em forcing them to reconsider their beliefs of love and a happily ever after!

@Shaila: A lotta people think that Geet should've aborted the child. But how could she? Leaving aside the fact that it was Dev's child (who she still wanted to find and get back to until Maan happened in her life) she had no reason to abort it. I mean, okay, the family, society and blah, blah but dude, only a mother can truly understand the feelings that Geet must be possessing for that unborn. It isn't only in dramas, but in true life too... Moreovert, Geet's charachter is portrayed as a compassionate soul in the show then how can one expect her to kill her own child? Until she'd met Maan, her child was the only reason of her life. So, Im totally wid Geet. I don't think she's wrong in keeping the child.

Yes, I do think that this was a very bad Eid gift but don't forget the beautiful Maaneet moments that we got in the epi. They were by far, the most intimate and beautiful ones! And not to forget, the TAVEEZ!! Which truly binds Maaneet. Maan is Geet's true life-partner and I'm sure CVs are gonna stick wid that. Though, seeing Dev all hell bent on confession his sins and now, Maan's behavior after the revealtion + NT's disappearance from Dev's life, there are chances of a triangle here. Dev-Geet-Maan! But it'd only be a matter of time until NT's return and Maan's acceptance.

I'd just say TRUST the CVs like you've always done and things would just turn out fine.

very well said...loved n agree each n every part of wat u said..
one more in defense of geet..for all those who say that she should have started from first...n tell him the full story..
she did think of telling him the whole story..its not like she wanted to hide anything from him or wanted to tell him only about pregnency issue...if u remember the geet practicing her confession in front of maan's chair...she was thinking of telling him from the start...
anyone would want a comfortable,peaceful,understanding..alone atmosphere to talk such things..
but when the time came...the atmosphere, the situation was not in her favour ..in the sense that u talk freely n straightly from first line to last line..as if u r dictating a essay to someone.
so..i dont blame geet for anything...neither do i blame maan....both r correct from their own points...n the story is going good..in correct direction...

i agree with you. no one is at fault. it's becoz of situation and circumstances tthey are in mess.. till last week they were not all sure tthat they love each other so madly. after hoshyar pur fiasco only they realised they are more to each other. , when they come to know each other perception about love.maan was happy that she wanted to stay with him for together but geet past is still haunting. never geet made any positive signal to formalise this relationship as she knew their is a bad past and she also knew very well that maan cannot take it. but again time had taken a leap, she could not hide this bitter truth from him.it was a very right decision she had taken to confront at this time otherwise maan would have been more hurt if truth had come in later stage.
