Indian Idol competition was in final stages. The participants were working hard to impress the public. Antara was trying her level best. Even in the midst of the competition we would see her confident smile and no tension on the face. As a tradition to Indian Idol they gave a chance to all participants to visit their home land for a winning campaign.
Antara was to visit Maslandpur, a small village in West Bengal. Antara took her first flight to Kolkata. People were waiting to welcome her "Ladli" since Thursday night. There was a huge crowd in the airport. It seemed like the crowd you would see in a stadium for India Pakistan One day international cricket match. They had flowers, gifts, bouquets and above all, lots of love for their hometown girl. As it was 8:00 AM, mob of people to rushed towards the passenger arrival gate. Antara was surprised to see so many people but very few familiar faces. Many came forward to put garlands to her, with gifts and we could only see garlands walking towards us but no face.
Finally Antara's saw her parents. Tears started rolling down their cheeks as well as Antara's. She was touched by the welcome. She rushed towards her parents, touched her ma-baba's feet and took their "aashirwaad". They were so happy to receive her. All her friends started cheering for Antara. Her pet name is "Tonu" Suddenly "Tonu, tonu" was heard from all over the crowd. Her friends came with a big banner of Antara's picture, with a slogan "Achcha chunoge to Achcha sunoge" (what Antara quoted in II ones, meaning if you choose well, you will get to hear well). She couldn't believe her eyes. Her friend's started dancing with big drums. There were few children, doing Bengali folk dance. Antara was walking behind them. It was already 10 AM. They started moving towards the car. It was difficult to get out of the airport as everyone wanted to shake hands with her, give her the gifts and take her autograph. She was excited as she was signing autographs for the first time. She didn't want to disappoint her fans.
Finally, she could reach to the jeep. It was an open jeep so that she could wave to all her fans on her way to village. She was touched by the warm welcome, the way people were eager to have a glance of her. She couldn't control her tears. It was a lot for a small girl.
People were cheering her:
"Next Idol Ke hobe, Antara hobe Antara hobe
Aapnaar vote kake deben, Antara ke deben Antara ke deben" (Meaning: who will be the next Idol? It will be Antara, it will be Antara to whom will we all vote, we vote for Antara)
It was very sweet. She felt like being a political leader. Her dad was standing next to her and she hugged him tightly. Her dad was also emotional. He was very happy to see her daughter reaching the heights.
It took them 5 hours to reach the village which was usually an hour drive from the airport. She was welcomed by her grandmother who always predicted that Antara would be a famous for her singing one day; the words came true. Antara touched her nani's feet to take blessings. Her Nani gave her a big hug, fed her rosogullas, her favorite sweets. Antara then took out the chashma which she bought for her Nani from Mumbai. Nani was impressed that Antara remembered what she asked for, as she was not able to watch her in TV clearly without chashma. Nani got tears in her eyes. She hugged and kissed her on forehead. She also remembered to bring the gifts for others too. She brought chocolates for her friends and neighbors, sari for her mom, electronic keyboard for her dad and above all happiness for everyone.
As for her village is concerned, first of all when she got into the Indian Idol the village people thought that she got a good job in the Indian Oil, a petroleum company. Whenever they switched on their television Antara's song or her performances flashed all the time with regular intervals, then they thought that may be she got a role in the film industry. So it was all messed up initially but now they knew what the difference between Indian Oil and Indian Idol was. She cracked up when she heard this story from her neighbor.
People were asking many questions and no one would be quiet. Antara was just missing this moment, and she replied to all patiently. She was amused by the innocence of the people.
Antara's friends came to meet her. She jumped out of joy. They all rushed to her school. People just crowded her up from all directions. She went to meet her Principal Mrs. Sonali Chatterjee. Sonali ma'am was so happy to see her there. She didn't even imagine that Antara would come and stand in front of her someday just like that. It was a pleasant surprise. Antara bent down to take her blessings. Tears of joy were ther in their eyes. On teacher's and student's choice, Antara performed "Zara zara", "Ruki ruki si zindagi" and couple favorites of the audiences. All the students started cheering up for Antara and clapping. She felt as a celebrity that night. Her headmistress hugged her tight. This is what any teacher would want to see out of a student. It was dream come true.
Antara returned home, tired after program. Her mom sat next to her, massaged her hair. Tears rolled on her mom's cheeks as Antara was working so hard at this young age itself and has got the popularity to them as well. Her Nani ji brought some food for her, delicacies and favorite food of Antara. She fed her with her hands and both were in tears. She had a concert in Kolkata in the evening. It was organized by some local music group and she had to give her best to win everyone's heart. She reached Victoria Hall, Kolkata with her parents. As she stepped out of the car, she was crowded by press, cameramen, and journalists. Camera started clicking all over. Police assisted her to get into the green room, from where she was lead to the stage. She was looking stunning in her red sari. It wasn't like a future Indian Idol but some film star performing on the stage. She gently listened to everyone's request and sang few songs "Pyar hua chupke se", "Zara zara mahakata hai", "mere haathon mein nau nau choodiyan hain", "Mehndi laga ke rakhna" and many more. Soon after the concert, people just crowded her on the stage for her autograph. She had to leave abruptly as the crowd was unmanageable.
She returned the next day to Mumbai. She was remembering all the events that just happened in 1 day. It was like a roller coaster, like a movie in her life. She had a smile on her face thinking of all the good moments and the time she could spend with her parents, returning back with more courage, support and confidence.

A Visit To Remember
After the results day, the top 4 of Indian Idol (Neha, Amey, Antara, Karunya) got a chance to visit their homes. Neha Kakkar was very excited to visit her family, friends, and school back in Delhi for a day. As soon as she landed at DelhiAirport, she saw something surprisingly different then what she actually expected. There were over a thousand people standing outside the airport. Firstly she thought some ministers would be coming. But later on, she realized the whole crowd was waiting for her. As she came out of the airport there were many police constables trying to protect her from the screaming crowd who were jumping and trying to have a glimpse of Neha. It had eventually brought tears in her eyes after seeing all this. It took her 20 minutes for her to meet and hug her family who were waiting for her. So they sat in the car and went home.
When she reached her house, the whole locality and crowd started presenting many gifts, garlands, and flowers. She met them all with a smiling face. The streets were colourful with decorations, and loud with lots of fireworks. There were so many photographers, journalists, fans, and a group of boys screaming and surrounding her. And her fan club members Ryan, Hibba, and Zee were also present. She was shocked to have such a welcome by people whom she didn't even know. After participating in Indian Idol 2 she felt like the whole of Delhi knew her. There were many posters saying De Di Chakkar, Mar Li Takkar, One and Only Neha Kakkar! Or Chahe Tum Kaho, Haan Ya Naa, Humari Indian Idol Hai, Neha! And others.
As she enters, her mother takes her aarti, puts the tikka on her head, and puts a garland around her neck. Her mother is so proud of her little girl and how much talent she possesed. Both mother and daughter embraced and tears of joy rolled down their cheeks. Her father, sister Sonu, and 2 brothers embraced her like it's been a few years, when only a few months had passed by. After the rejoicing of the family, they sang Om Jai Jagdish Hare and at the end she said Jai Mata Di! It was a very touching moment.
Then Neha performed Zubi Zubi and other songs that the audience had requested. After that, she freshened up and had a long chat with her family. After a little while, she ate her mothers delicious chicken curry for lunch along with kheer for desert.
Then, she went to visit her school NewHolyPublic School. She met her principal and all of her teachers and went around the school. The teacher that was with her, told all the students that this is the student we are most proud of because of her lovely talent and the way she made the school so proud. Her classmates and friends wished her best of luck and said, "We know that you are going to be our Indian Idol. You rock!" She was so happy and remembered all the good times she had in the school and she told them "I love you! Thanks a lot!" Then the students started shouting "We love you Neha!"
She was also requested by the teachers and principal to have a stage show in the school for the students. She agreed and every one was very happy. She sang all the songs she had ever sung in Indian Idol 2 and the whole school wished her best of luck. The students came in screaming "Jai Mata Di" and came in with banners and posters. The school gave her a picture book of all the good times she had had in the school. Before she left they asked her some questions. One of the questions was "Do you miss us and do you feel you are lucky to be in the top 4 of Indian Idol 2?" She replied, "I miss you a lot and now since I am in Indian Idol 2 it seems like school is like a holiday."
Then she went back home and had dinner. The next morning she said Alvida to all her families, friends, teachers, fans and neighbours. She took her parent's ashirwaad and hugged her siblings. She drove back to the set of Indian Idol, crying half the way in the car. But she stopped, and thought in her mind "This is a visit to remember and never forget. I will never forget these people. All their prayers and best wishes are with me, so I will not leave any space for imperfection. I will try my level best and make everyone proud of me, when I become the next Indian Idol!"

AMEY HOUSE
After all the hard work and anticipation, Amey has made it to the Indian Idol finals! But before the last episode is shot, he gets a chance to go back home and see his family, friends, and fans for one day.
Amey awakens early in the morning eager to leave for home. He gets into the car and prepares himself for what's to come. After making so many public appearances, he's sure he'll be able to handle the crowds with ease, but he was not at all prepared for the enormous throng of people awaiting his arrival. The car is forced to stop and thousands and thousands of fans draw nearer surrounding the car from all sides. Amey is overwhelmed and steps out of the car smiling. Garlands are being hung around his neck and people are grabbing at him and patting his back. Just to his right Amey notices that standing among his fans are his family and closest friends. He walks to his mother who is holding an aarti. While she takes his aarti, her eyes are welling up with tears of happiness and pride. Amey hugs his mother and tells her that he is home only for a short while and wants to see a smile on her face. She smiles then and puts a tikka on his forehead and tells him the first thing he should do is go to the Siddhivinayak temple.
Amey pushes his way through the mass of people and heads to the temple thinking of the countless things he has to thank God for. People are following him wondering where he is going. All the people who had come to pray in the temple shift their gaze towards Amey as he enters the temple. Amey feels really awkward as he realizes that even in the temple he is under the public's scrutiny. Amey decides to ignore the constant gaze and closes his eyes as he asks for God's blessings and the strength to accept whatever the outcome of II may be. The pandit ji gives him Prasad and reminds him to remember God in good times and bad.
He leaves the temple feeling renewed and heads for home; the fans who were waiting impatiently outside the temple begin trailing him again. The door to his home is open and as he enters, his sister's kids rush at him and hug him tightly. His beautiful sister, Aparna, is beaming as she feeds Amey some home made modak (maharashtrian sweet). She pulls him into the house to see the others who are waiting for him. Amey is delighted to see that all of his cousins, aunts, uncles, friends etc. are there to welcome him.
A little later in the morning, Amey sits down to have his favorite batata-poha specially prepared by his mother and sister. He is just finishing the last few bites when his sister's children come running into the room with a bongo. They beg him to play it, just like they had seen him do on TV. Amey laughs and starts beating on the bongo while the children jump up and down to the beat. After the kids tire of jumping, Amey and his friends decide to have a little fun like old times.
They get on their bikes and race to Shivaji Park. The park is filled with people enjoying the beautiful day. Amey notices a 12-ft poster near the park with his voting details and a sense of pride fills his heart as he realizes the amount of effort that is going behind fulfilling his dream. Amey and his friends go to their usual spot to check out beautiful girls like they used to. Amey is looking at a particularly pretty girl when a middle aged woman suddenly blocks his view and asks for an autograph. More and more people start recognizing Amey and before he knows it a crowd has formed around him making it impossible to move. All the kids playing cricket in the park leave their game and come rushing towards him begging him to sign on their bats or gloves. The crowd attracts even more curious onlookers and he is soon being mobbed. His friends come to the rescue and pull him out of the crowd; they quickly get on their bikes and speed back home.
It is early afternoon when Amey gets home. He remembers that in half an hour he is expected to make an appearance at his old school so he quickly changes, fixes his hair, and heads to the school. A huge crowd of students and teachers is excitedly waiting for him. He talks to the students about his journey on II, performs several songs, and ends his visit by signing autographs and shaking hands. Amey is exhausted and looks forward to spending the rest of his day at home with his family. But he has one more stop to make. Now more than ever he needs to see his guru, Suresh Wadkar ji, for last minute advice and aashirwaad for the upcoming finals. Suresh ji welcomes Amey with open arms and praises him for making it so far. The students in the academy get excited seeing him and bombard him with questions about the Indian Idol experience. Amey's students excitedly tell their fellow students that he was their music teacher. Amey does some riyaz with Suresh ji and leaves feeling more confident about winning the title.
Amey arrives home in the evening and finds that his family and friends are waiting to eat dinner with him. It's an enjoyable evening as everyone jokes and has a good time. His friends tease him about Meenal, his mother fusses over him making sure he's eaten enough, his sister's kids laugh and talk the loudest. Following dinner everyone sits down to a game of cards and they chat until late at night. When Amey finally goes to bed that night he thinks of how much life has changed in such a short time span. He falls asleep imagining how much more things will change if he is to win the title.
The next morning, it is time to go back to the studios. Amey's family is torn between sadness that he's leaving and excitement that the next time he returns he may very well be the Indian Idol. Before getting into the car Amey touches his mother's feet and hugs her tightly. Tears begin to well in her eyes and Amey has to remind her to smile but she can't this time. A huge crowd is standing outside Amey's house to wish him luck. Amey reluctantly gets into the car which begins to take off. He looks back through the window and sees that his mother is still crying. Seeing his mother's face slowly fade away in the distance Amey decides that nothing will stop him from winning the title- he would put a smile on his mother's face forever.

Karunya's Visit to Hyderabad
Deevena was really excited that morning, her brother karunya is going to come to Hyderabad after a long time. There has been a festive environment in the twin cities as local lad Karunya has done the cities proud by reaching top 4. He will be coming today to campain in Hyderabd. The whole town is filled with posters and the organizers have been busy making sure everything goes smooth.
The CEO of Karu fan club in HYD and the organizer of his campaign Gautam called in the morning to say that a car will be sent home to pick them up and take them to the air port.
The car came exactly on time as promised and Deevena and Madhu went to the airport while mom stayed home to prepare Karu's favourite food.
Karu was given a grand welcome at the airport and after the nicities and fan fare , autographs, and interviews headed straight home to his mom. He was at home till after noon and afternoon went to lalbahadur stadium for his campaign, Deevena was so excited to be with her loving brother and wouldn't stop chatting. On the she was excitedly showing all the posters in the town to her brother.
They reached the stadium at 2:30 and show was scheduled for 3 pm.
There were approximately 15,000 fans in the stadium all chanting Karunya, karunya and the noice in the stadium was deafening. After a small interview with the paper and a few hundred autographs Karu got on to the stadium to perform. It was such a mind blowing performace and all the audiences were spell bound. After the performance he appealed to all the audience to vote for him.
From there he reached the Zymkhana grounds in Secendrabad and the roads were jammed with the people trying to cram into the grounds. After another stunning performance there, the 10,000 strong audience kept chanting once more, once more. Karunya had to oblige his fans.
Gautam capped off the wonderful day with a dinner for Karu , cheif minister and some key ministers in AP Gov and some of the legends in Telugu industry in Taj. Everyone wished Karu good luck and CM promised Karu full support.
What a day thought Karunya, playing antakshari with his sister Deevena and the accompanying Gautam, who was telling him repeatedly about all the Karu fans in US, Lovlina, Henna, Muqaddasa, Ramya, Babli, Hunyum and the endless. Karu was pleased hear all this and thanked Gautam for all the efforts he took to make this a grand success. He later had a nice chat with his dad and mom before going to sleep.
Karunya got up to a pleasant breakfast from his mom, and after a nice chat with mom and dad was reminded of his flight by Gautam.
The airport was full of Karunya fans assuring him that they will vote him in high numbers.
While Karunya baded them with teary eyes for their love as he entered the departure gate, every one shouted....
