Actor Riddhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat’s divorce had once sparked widespread discussion, not only because they were a much loved television couple but also because of the dignity and silence with which they chose to part ways. Married in 2011 after meeting on the sets of a daily show, the two surprised fans when they announced their separation in 2019. While the news itself was met with respect, several assumptions and rumors soon followed, many of which continued to circulate long after their divorce was finalized.
Recently, Riddhi Dogra addressed one such rumor and set the record straight during a podcast for Balaji Telefilms’ YouTube channel. When asked about a commonly believed but incorrect narrative surrounding her divorce, the actress spoke with honesty and clarity. She said, “I don't remember what I've read, but it's true that me and my ex-husband Raak, we are very good friends. So, we have actually, you know, saved our friendship by getting out of the marriage because we were not compatible as partners, as husband and wife, but we are very, very good friends. We trust each other. We can, you know, guard each other's secrets and stand up for each other.”
Through her statement, Riddhi dismissed the idea that separations must always be bitter or hostile. Instead, she emphasized that their decision to end the marriage was rooted in maturity and self awareness rather than conflict. By choosing friendship over forced compatibility, the two were able to preserve mutual respect and emotional safety, something that is often overlooked in conversations around divorce.
Me and my ex-husband Raak, we are very good friends. So, we have actually, you know, saved our friendship by getting out of the marriage because we were not compatible as partners, as husband and wife, but we are very, very good friends. We trust each other. We can, you know, guard each other's secrets and stand up for each other.

Riddhi and Raqesh have, over the years, maintained a cordial bond and have even spoken positively about each other in public. Their approach has been seen as refreshing in an industry where personal relationships are often scrutinized and sensationalized. Both actors have consistently refrained from assigning blame or indulging in public narratives that could damage the other’s reputation.
On the professional front, Riddhi Dogra has been enjoying a strong phase in her career. She has successfully transitioned from television to digital platforms, earning praise for her performances in web series like Asur and The Married Woman. She has also made her presence felt in films, showcasing her versatility across formats. Raqesh Bapat, too, has remained active, with notable appearances on television and reality shows, including his stint on Bigg Boss OTT. The actor is now a part of Bigg Boss Marathi 6.
Their journey serves as a reminder that relationships can evolve without turning toxic, and that sometimes, letting go is an act of respect rather than failure.
