Hahaha...!! Nice point...usually it happens in Bombay that marriages are held at night time, with all the Baraat coming and all...so...actually they didn have any point of having a muhorath...!!!

Bombay seems to be an exception. I heard from a friend, they don't care for mahurat-vahurat. The chances of people attending your wedding are higher, if you marry on a sunday😆 or saturday evening.
All that dreadful commuting they must do to get around, people dread going to weddings on workdays 😆

paithanis.......now whats it......i hav heard the name for first time.......waise bhi i dnt know much about sarees......know just those one which my mom wears..........

Paithani is a typical traditional Maharashtrian weave saree. It has the same value and status like a "Kanjeevaram".
The saaree has jari border and pallu, and traditionally the motifs on the saree are stars, peacocks, mangoes, flowers, coins, fans, petals, lotus, coconut, etc. And the border usually has gold dots and coins as motif.
Many of the handloom sarees of Maharashtra, Andhra and Orissa look similar.
Boy, now I am really interested in reading up more and getting more Gyan on Sarees of India😊

Pochampally, Sambalpuri look similar (in cotton and silk). Narayan Peth (maharashtra) and Venkatagiri (Andhra) look similar.
If you look closer, we have Pochampally, Sambalpuri and Patola (from Gujarat) which are similiar.

Please, with all due respect to all, not offense meant, but we have had enough Punjabification of India.
I don't want Karan-Johar wedding replicated in Patilwadi😛 People in ostentatious Lehengas and Sherwanis.
Wedding lehenga is only what North Indian girls wear.
In celebration of our cultural and ethnic diversity, let us have a Big Fat Maharashtrian, Patil wedding.
I will forgive the Sangeet-Vangeet, it is becoming a regular fare in all Indian weddings. Thanks to Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and Karan Johar.

True! No more punjabification please! I want a Maharashtrian wedding since all the characters including the sponsor DSP is Maharashtrian.
There days its a trend on TV to have everyone come and sing and dance there. I dont mind if they do that in the sangeet. But the actual wedding must be simple with only family and close friends.
