To Love Again - Part 19

Maan finally raised his head feeling a strong hand on his shoulders and wiped off his tears. 'I'm really sorry Mr.Khurana' Maan touched Geet's firm belly with his hands. 'Your wife is very brave to fight against all these odds, I hope you will take good care of her' doctor Sujit felt that Maan wasn't ready to listen to him so he left the room. Maan didn't know what to say, or even how to react upon thinking why the doctor didn't tell him what really had happened. Did Geet loose her baby? Is her baby dead? How will she survive if it dies? No. This shouldn't be happening. He needs to do something, but he can't make a dead to become alive. For once in life, the courageous Maan Singh Khurana felt hepless not knowing what to do.

His dark memories haunted him for a while making him worse, thinking how rude he behaved with her. How many times did he scold her, pulled and pushed her. He had cursed her alot for being clumsy at times, but without knowing she was pregnant. He remembered how much he harmed her purposedly, harrasing her physically. He should be punished for what he did, but why is she being punished everytime? Why did God always make her to suffer because of him?Before it was his brother, and this time she will definetly blame him for everything. She should have been more careful. He became tensed thinking she being just like Hoshiyarpur express.

He knocked at doctor Sujit's door and waited until he was asked to enter. Doctor greeted him and asked him to have a seat so that they could have a good conversation. Dr.Sujit asked about their marriage and about the history of Geet's pregnancy to give him a clear idea of the present situation. Haning heard that she had never been to a doctor since she is pregnant gave doctor Sujit a shock. 'why didn't you make her to consult a doctor? you can't be this careless' Maan didn't know how to answer to his question so he remained silent. 'I'm sorry doctor, actually I didn't know she was pregnant' it was a piece of truth came from him. 'let by gones be by gones and we need to move ahead, right? Again I would say that your wife is very brave and lucky to have you as her husband, or else she might not be able to make it' A smile appeared on doctor's face which confused Maan more. 'is she alright? Is the baby..?' He was afraid to complete his question, but wanted to know the truth. 'the baby also made it Mr.Khurana, that's what I wanted to tell you in the beginning also' Maan sighed with relief after hearing the doctor's statement. A huge grin appeared on his face and he forgot where he was at that moment, but he came back to sense soon 'Thank you so much doctor' he didn't feel guilty for how he behaved at the beginning and being Maan Singh Khurana he will never ask anyone's forgiveness.

He called Daadi who was restless at home and delivered the message 'Daadima, I'm so so so happy today' he expressed his feelings to his best friend and best companion. Daadi couldn't help smiling knowing how happy her grand son was at the moment and answered him back 'I know, my son but don't forget to bring Geet home, ok'. 'Daadima, how can I leave her' knowing that Daadi teased him, he ended his call. Daadi took her note book and ordered Chandu to arrange the sweets for all their friends and office staff. Chandu who was upset with what happened in the morning felt happy upon hearing it and started his work, right at that moment.

Maan sat beside Geet's bed the whole night, fighting against his tiredness and sleep. He never let go off her hand once. He made a promise to himself, that no matter what happens he would never let her out his sight. When ever he isn't around to protect her, she always gets into trouble and he can't give any chance to her right now. He had nearly lost her or her baby this time which would have made their relationship worse. He rested his head on the chair and sighed with relief.
