I think he did that because he was trying hard to control himself. For a minute he got carried away but reminded himself that she does not love him. He pushed her because he wanted her far away so that he doesn't lose control or something. It made sense to me. But yeah, it is very insulting for Prats because she literally gave herself up to him and he rejected her. Honestly though, Prats has behaved the same way with Krishna so I just see this as role reversal.
