do you really think we will watch these serials if the characters are dressed in drab ordinary clothes. it is really for the colour of the background they wear them. i also feel that they dont do washing, cleaning etc. modi house women just cook and do pooja for that this kind of costume is necessary. imagine koki in a night gown or something else😲 and the water issue in south india we get water only at certain timing and we save it with water motor and tanks.

In other serials the costuming is more realistic. While I get that the Modis are wealthy, there has to be some touch of reality. Don't get me wrong - I love seeing the beautiful saris, but to sleep in? What do most women sleep in? Here in the states it ranges in everything from Victoria's Secret to flannels and sweatshirts to whatever... Not that I want to see Koki or any of the other actresses in VS, I just can't imagine anyone actually sleeping in a sari.

Actually the Modi women do wash the laundry - Gopi ruined one of Ahem's shirts that way.

The water issue is fascinating to me. Over the past few years I have come to a greater appreciation for running water in my home. It's the one modern convenience I could not do without.

ha water is privileged here. in summer i can of water approx 10 liters costs 50rs. that is used for drinking. mostly water in various parts of south india like andrapradesh tamilnadu orrisa are salty mixed with chlorine etc.

How is the water situation in large towns like Mumbai? What do people in apartment complexes do and how would they store water? Are there large water treatment plants?

not only in mumbai but in most part of india to my knoweldge there is water scarcity during summer and if you are wealthy you can buy water if you save municipal water and use it till there water tanker comes may be once in a week. and mostly women in joined families sleep in sarees but not in deginer sarees like mode women

hii tam u got enough information abt water supply but let me tell u something abt dress up. I'm a Gujarati and knows their culture very well, yes women wear heavy saree and jeweleries at home daily, but today due to modernization they dont prefer all these thing but in traditional families it is compulsary if front of elders. My mom always wear saree with her head covered with it n she feels uncomfortable in other dresses.

I'm back... Interesting. I kindof like the fact that sarees are 'compulsary' in front of elders. Shows respect. It would be nice to wear a beautiful saree and jewelry all day - as long as I had someone to do the chores and all I had to do was to look pretty. 😆 Although, I do like my jeans and sweats. Sometimes I do wish that people would take a bit more pride in what they wear. I don't know what it's like over there, but kids are really sloppy here nowadays.

Oh, thats the newest word I learned. I thought crow was also caowa in hindi. Thanks for the help 😊
