American Telly has a show called 'The Good Wife'. The first season got nine
Emmy nominations. The second season will start in Sept.

But the reason I mention this is that in that show the hero speaks of 'the seductive
allure of power'......you see he is the DA for Chicago.....and gets a lot of action.....you know
what i mean.......

i have always wondered how come Amoli was immune to it????
after being humiliated & pushed around by DV......i thought she
would herself seek that power.....even if it is just for revenge.....
...not this be very goody goody but also seek revenge.....

......i would have thought her revenge would be dramatically opposite from
that shown......cvs of course have completely sacrificed her character to create drama
......

Alicia Florick & our own Amoli - Hmmmm, thats a thought.
Sadly BP as it is, seems to have been way too forward thinking for a huge chunk of the idiot box audience who obviously seem entrenched even today in Harlequin Romance novels.

....Still, they tried.

hey Oh-wow.....🤗 glad u opened the topic...will post my opinions here....so here they are
i havent watched that show...oh Anj and i were talking about the taste of power before...how Devil can use it to his advantage to keep Amoli with him...trust me she is seduced by it...remember the whole panchayat drama.....when she was accused she still wanted to sit with the panchs....but now they are just twisting her character to create more drama for the end....🤢🤢...such a turn off...another take would be...that indian telly do seem make their lead characters look like saints...more divinity then humanity is shown...so may be thats the reason...and as i have stated before...i dont think she truly is in love with Radhey...rather she is in love with the idea of marriage and glorified maritial relationship with husbands....like god and godesses....and of course...her character has gone thorugh so much..and all the power to fight came bcoz she had Radhey as a reason to keep herself morally strong in front of DV's advances...and of course the emotion and expectation and energy she invested in Radhey plays a major role in her clinging to him...and there are other reasons as well...foremost that comes to my mind is her satisfaction of her super ego by clinging to Radhey's ghostly love.....and her conformity to society..u know people will raise questions on her what kinda woman was she that she accepted a philandering, adulterous man..who inspite of his own wife and her husband wanted to marry her...and attempted to murder her husband...not to mention tortured her family as well.....so that could be her reasons for strongly opposing DV's love...and now i think she is in complete denial..she is obviously in love with him...and she is using her power as Thakurian...to help out Chandu too...would original bechari Amoli do that??......somehow i dont think she would in her previous condition but now she can....she prolly is taking her position as Thakurain as granted..and if the show continues we will see her wielding her power more.....or miss wielding it if she chooses Radhey.....i hope she doesnt though....ah well thats my opinion😃

Well summarized Sinistera, the situation is akin to what is commonly known as "Stockholm syndrome"
& yes conformity is the issue, we still have to swallow the Tulsi/Parvati & now even Amoli type of heroines!
I for one was watching the show not so much for the romantic moments (admittedly they captured that quite well) but for what could have come next. After all what was the whole point in show- casing the social backdrop.... Anjali Yardi in todays article (main page) called BP a love story that will have a happy ending...atleast that much has been established.
In my opinion it could have been so much more than just a love story.

Does anyone here think a sequel with a Dv/Amoli love story as a back drop for social/family issues has a future?

@pankaj....oh i know stockholm syndrome...but i dont think it applys here....are u applying her love for Radhey as Stockholm or DV's???....coz i dont think it would be stockholm anymore in both cases.
yes that Ashwini lady is calling this a lovestory...scuzi moi...i m a missing something??....this is not a lovestory...its a psycho obsession story and i love it...but it is sooooo much more then a simple lovestory.....it has a lot of potential to grow and of course its pretty different from anything else on telly...and about hapy ending...dunno whos happy ending it would be??........DV's or Radheys?😕

Both, in a way but esentially Dv. - Radhe to start with - she needed his support while evading DV, thus identified with that relationship....& then Dv....the captive identifying with the captor, viewing him with kindness & even respect! But as you said it doesnt apply anymore. Both tracks were left half-cooked much to our frustration.
As for the happy ending...after the last episode, i think we can safely surmise where it is going....if it doesn't then we simply make our own ending...right here.

i kinda disagree...dont mean to offend u or anything....but in Radhey's case...he wasnt her tormentor at all...he was just being a weakling...Stockholm as i have studied is to develop feelings for ur tormentor...so for Radhey it is kinda vague...i mean he wasnt directly hurting her...he was just not saving her...when she needed him the most.
about her love for DV...hmmm...it could have been...had she fallen in love with the old psycho Thakur...not this new lovey dovey, bheegi billi one...now she has only coz he has changed...so is it Stockholm still??...i m in two minds here....but hoping for a happy ending as well....if they are ending it...magr if they are continuing than it would be great fun to watch😃

No offense taken....its a forum. I would love to talk psychology with you, Im well-versed there, but for the sake of others who would like to join us in this lively discussion, I'll keep it simple.

You are right Stockholm syndrome isn't how its turned out....i was rather hoping it would turn that way.
Radhe - as we know him now seems to have had an agenda of his own to get married to Amoli. Thus you can say that he got her to do as he wanted & see him in a certain way. The emotional bond she still feels for him, her refusal to see whats in front of her eyes thinking she is protecting him from Dv, could have been led to a Stockholm situation....
Dv in my eyes is still the abuser...he is still holding her captive in his house. She & we too dont see it that way, but she keeps making excuses to return/stay back. psychologically, he has her in his grip.
He also recently slapped her - twice... in my eyes there is no greater crime.

Bheegi billi - I like that, my mum calls such men 'washcloths'

Would be great if, in the short time we have left, they could portray her fighting for Dv for once.

Infact it would be great if this twit - Amoli could just figure out for herself what was going on under her nose instead of Kajri or anyone else point it out to her. Duh
What utter tripe.... they have made her out to be as stupid as her 1st hubby was initially.

If it weren't for all u romantics out here, I'd say gadha & gadhi belong together. Dv certainly deserves better.

Dont hate me, Im just livid... what a waste of a good show.
