Plot and Character sketch :

Nupur is an artist; she paints pictures. She also tells stories at local libraries and book stores. She buys furniture at second hand shops, because they have a story behind them. She has a bohemian style. Her home is full of color as are her clothes. She adopts damaged dogs and cats. She has quit her full time job as an art teacher to pursue her own career as an artist. After dipping into her fast evaporating savings for months, she's desperately in need of some money for back rent and other necessities.

Enter Mayank Sharma

Mayank is Nupur's neighbor. He drives a black Merc which Nupur calls the devilmobile with contempt. His home is decorated in black and white. He is a mild-mannered professor at the city college. He wants a teaching job at Xaviers College, a small private but highly exclusive college which would give him time to finish writing a book. During the job interview Dr. Mathews (dean of humanities at Xaviers College who is old fashioned) makes it clear that Mayank be married. Therefore, Mayank tells Mathews he is engaged. Mathews insists on meeting Mayank's fianc, which he doesn't have. He thus needs to come up with a temporary fianc until he clinches the position.

His options are few, but they include his neighbor, Nupur Bhushan. She is the antithesis of everything Mayank needs. He wants prim and proper; Nupur is fun and quirky. But she's gorgeous, and charming. Mayank offers to pay her to come and be his fianc for a weekend at the college.

Nupur has an incorrigible free spirit, a weakness for a good story and a bit of adventure. Why else would she agree to the outrageous deal offered by her sadu-akhdu, workaholic neighbor? As they proceed both are up against the biggest challenges they'll ever face in their lives.
