An unsung producer-director 'jodi'

There are numerous producer-directors 'jodis' in Bollywood who have been recognized for their work. Some make news, some do not. The pairing of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria belongs to the latter category.

Without making raving and ranting about their work and creating hoopla around their hit record, they have been silently delivering one hit after another for more than two decades now. While Indra Kumar is the director for all the movies, he has also paired up as a co-producer with Ashok for each of them.

Starting with 'Mohabbat' [1985] and 'Kasam' [1988], they struck gold with 'Dil' [1990] after which there was no looking back with back to back successes in the form of 'Beta' [1992] and 'Raja' [1995]. 'Mann' [1999] and 'Rishtey' [2002] may have been a spanner in their fast moving wheel but they hit back with vengeance with their 'Masti' [2004] that went on to be a bumper success.

Now the producer-director are back again with 'Pyaare Mohan' that promises to be a fun filled ride all the way. Starring Fardeen Khan and Vivek Oberoi along with Esha Deol and Amrita Rao, it is a comic film about the escapades of a deaf and a blind guy. The movie has been extensively shot in Bangkok and is gearing up for an April release.
