When he stood up for Khanak against Khushboo was a huge turning point, I say thi because before he didnt say anything because of Natasha, but this time he did not care, how and if Natasha will/would feel bad that he gave an answer back to Khushboo. I think that Shan has finally realized that might as well make it a better situation for himself and Khanak, and completely put Natasha in the past

if shaan had still not stood up for khanak, after claiming his love for her, then 'one whack on the head' for our burthal would definitely have been on the cards😆
