It's funny how SS teased Krishna once about taking Prats' sandal or slipper and worshipping her, pointing to his tattoo and basically making his son out to be a mere devotee instead of the lion he truly is.
Even though Krishna has been angry with her for some time, he has enough intelligence and class not to show it in front of his family. He knows this will only encourage them, and not only that, it will demean her in front of them. Instead he has defended his Princess, drawing out his sword and it makes him the hero.
The hero may sometimes be violent, brash, and mean, but at least he saves it for his room and doesn't display it in front of others. The same for his moments of affection.
He may not be the Saxenas' idea of a prince because he doesn't read and write, but there is more to nobility than education. There is chivalry. Even Prof had to admit that once Krishna stopped his wife from falling and wiped off the black paint. And he, a man whom all of Allahabad is scared of, apologized to his FIL and came out the bigger person.
