Yeah, we have talked about kissing in Bollywood. If a woman and man can't even kiss in Bollywood movies, then so much even thinking about gay or lesbian kissing. That is why Hollywood is so daring and innovative. A film called "Brokeback Mountain" released several years ago with Heath Ledger. It was about a gay relationship, where two guys had an affair when they were married to other women. It even won Academy awards! 🤢

Even Madonna and Britney Spears once kissed on the MTV Video Music Awards and it was fully televised with no edits...see below. If the Hritik and Aish kiss is a big deal in Dhoom 2, you think a kiss like the one below (Madonna/Britney Spears) can be accepted in Bollywood? It ain't going to happen and it is sad.

Just because Hollywood does something, it doesn't mean we need to do it too. I don't think it would necessarily show any maturity or open-mindedness for two actresses to smooch at an award show.

However, I do think we need to grow out of the whole "sex is bad" mindset. Sex is natural and so is kissing and it's about time our movies were able to portray that in a classy way. We made a feeble attempt at portraying lesbianism in Girlfriend but that ended up more like a sleazefest than actual cinema. I thought Parineeta actually had a very well-portrayed so-called sex scene. Movies like Kurbaan, Jism and several more have been able to portray sexuality in a subtle, erotic way without it looking like po*nography so I think we're getting there. It'll just take some time.

exactly..n i sincerely hope that wouldn't happen!cz B'wood s NOT H'wood..we need to understand it!

btw every1 who is saying H'wood is better...come on can a H'wood director or actors will EVER be able to pull of a song dance movie like in B'wood? im nt telling it as some benchmark or smthing..just pointing out the difference.

n btw B'wood movie which will have smthing like above will most likely not get clearance 4m the sensors..it has to do with the mindset of the people..just blaming B'wood s nt enough..

sigh**....leave bollywood as it is....its famous because its cheesy..😆 ...we all kno sex and kissing is a part of life....but I feel such intimate and private details are better off not shown in muvies....they become too commercial and lose their importance and worth. And as for the "growing up", it is to do with acknowledging sex and kissing as a part of life, not necessarily to do with indulging in them. Sexual themes are very much accepted in our movies (Hello!! Dev d, LSD,Jism, ishqiya anyone??)...so Bollywood has "grown up".. but the explicit depiction of sex seems unnecessary to me and to a large section of the audience. I dunt get how showing a sex scene can be "important to the story" or for any other purpose apart from titillation...the sexual act can be shown implicitly and people would still follow the story... Its better to leave certain things to the imagination anyway, according to me.

That said, bollywood is pretty hypocritical. Showing a woman in a saree under the rain doing suggestive dances is just a more "conservative" substitute for depicting sex. I feel filmakers want to venture into that zone, but fear losing a large segment of the audience (namely "family audience" and "women"), thereby affecting the box office collections. At the end of the day, it is all abt business!
