sigh**....leave bollywood as it is....its famous because its cheesy..😆 ...we all kno sex and kissing is a part of life....but I feel such intimate and private details are better off not shown in muvies....they become too commercial and lose their importance and worth. And as for the "growing up", it is to do with acknowledging sex and kissing as a part of life, not necessarily to do with indulging in them. Sexual themes are very much accepted in our movies (Hello!! Dev d, LSD,Jism, ishqiya anyone??)...so Bollywood has "grown up".. but the explicit depiction of sex seems unnecessary to me and to a large section of the audience. I dunt get how showing a sex scene can be "important to the story" or for any other purpose apart from titillation...the sexual act can be shown implicitly and people would still follow the story... Its better to leave certain things to the imagination anyway, according to me.
That said, bollywood is pretty hypocritical. Showing a woman in a saree under the rain doing suggestive dances is just a more "conservative" substitute for depicting sex. I feel filmakers want to venture into that zone, but fear losing a large segment of the audience (namely "family audience" and "women"), thereby affecting the box office collections. At the end of the day, it is all abt business!
