The Scene based on todays episode where Maan realizes Geet is going to leave him…
Do you really want to hurt me!
Geet doosri naukri doondh rahi hai? he fumed in side. He almost crushed the paper he held in his hand in rage. She was running away from him because of what he had done last night. No, she was here only for some time Maan thought. It was agreed by them. It was because Daadi was ill that is why she had stayed back else she was going.
He did not want her to go. He wanted her to stay, with him. He had said some harsh words to her but then it happened sometime in anger. He had told her as much. She had accepted that. May be I should do something about convincing her to stay back. Where will she go in Delhi. Will she go back to Hoshiarpur? No I think that road is closed for her.
He felt his anger mellow down a bit. But it fueled again at the thought that she was not going to tell him that she was leaving. She was going to leave on the sly. It was chance that he saw the newspaper. He went to the outhouse much after everyone had left for the day. He had told Daadi that he had some paperwork he needed from outhouse and left. He missed the knowling smile of Daadima.
He entered the Outhouse, all was silent only one or two lights were on. It was suffused in a glow that was dim enough to create an atmosphere but lit enough to guide one, he thought that it was empty but then he heard the rustling of curtains near the open window. She was standing there with her back to him, looking out. He went up to the desk where Geet sits and peeked into the dust bin to see if the rose was still there. To his surprise, it was not. He looked at Geet, but he could not make out if she held the rose. He looked around the room but no sign of the rose.
He walked up to her silently, standing right behind her, try to fathom what she was thinking. He heard her sobs then. Silent sobs racking her body but the hitch had caught his attention as she had drawn her breath. He thought he heard his name like a plea. All anger that filled him earlier returned mixed with yearning, a helplessness. He wanted to shake her for thinking of leaving on one side and on other he wanted to take her in his arms, to comfort her to make her stop crying. Instinctively, he hugged her from behind, his arms folding her into him. She screeched, and turned her head but he said, Shh! Its me Geet!
But she knew. She knew the minute he had touched her. The involuntary yelp had been just an automatic reaction on being surprised. With her head turned, she looked at him calming from her initial shock with a face that spoke volumes, with eyes brimming with fresh tears, with cheeks stained with old. He took all this in but he also felt something else, he felt something soft in her hand as his hands had come over hers. He turned her, to find the rose in her hand. He looked down at it, then up at her face and whispered, "you took it." She nodded, making no effort to move out of his arms. He smiled, "I had got it for you," he admitted, "I wanted to give it to you all morning."
She opened her mouth, but no voice would come. She gulped and tried again, "but", she croaked, "you hate them", he gave a lopsided smile. "yeah! But you love them!"
She blinked not understanding his meaning. He said, "Don't leave Geet!" changing the subject. She frowned but then realized he must have seen the paper.
She tried to then wriggle out of his hold, but tightened it and then without preamble, he kissed her.
