'I like cracking jokes'
The bestubbled Shabbir Ahluwalia is making a comeback on television as the host on Meethi Chhoorii No 1. The Kayamath actor hosted two seasons of Nach Baliye and anchored Dancing Queen but disappeared thereafter. Shabbir talks about his rejuvenating break and the masti on the sets of Meethi Chhoorii No. 1 with women — eight of them!
"Even if one takes seven births one can't understand what's going on in the mind of a woman," he opines. On his disappearance from the small screen he says, "I took a small break to rejuvenate myself." So what prompted him to take up Meethi Chhoorii No 1? "This is a unique chat show where the right women participants can speak their mind as anything goes in the show," he adds.
In real life Shabbir is very lazy. "I like to sleep, relax, watch movies and take it easy. I like cracking jokes," he confesses. Are the jokes on Meethi Chhoori scripted? "The quips are spontaneous. One can't script jokes when you have eight women," he adds in a lighter tone.
Meanwhile Shabbir is delighted to work with Jay again after Kayamath. "Jay is a sweet guy. We share a very good chemistry.
Sharing his most memorable moment in the show, Shabbir reveals that those were the ones spent with Karishma Tanna. "We asked her what do guys look for in a girl and you know her answer, don't you? (Karishma said 'butt' in the clippings of the show that we were shown). It was funny and we all cracked up."
Shabbir will obviously have an insight into the minds of women by the time he is done with this show.
