wow people calm downnnnn...first find out what it is and then react! it was an auction and the money went to charity! FYI:
Delhi's been getting a higher than ever dose of fashion past few weeks. First, it was the couture week, and now, it's the "Aisha" team. The movie's promotions have been a complete fashion joyride. And since it's a Delhi movie, Delhi's been stepping out in their high-end best for Sonam, Rhea and company! This evening was no different ' a high-end luxury brand hosted a charity event for Sonam Kapoor, her sis and the producer Rhea, and gal-pals in the film' Ira Dubey, Amrita Puri and Lisa Haydon. Kalyani Saha Chawla had Sonam auction off a pricey bag, the proceeds from which will go for a good cause.
STAR POWER: Sonam, tall and elegant in a wine-red ensemble, was the star of the evening. As soon as she entered, she was surrounded by friends from the Delhi fash frat ' Manish Arora, Ritu Kumar, Atsu Sekhose... Her aunt, Reena Marwah, Anil Kapoor's sister, was there too, with another niece of hers, Bhavika. Rhea handled things quietly, from behind the scenes, while the girls enjoyed their second high -fashion change of the day. After spending the first half of the day in the "Aisha" look, the girls changed again into high-end designerwear. Ira was heard excitedly telling Manish how Lisa was found trying on her dress one day!
COCKTAILS? NAH: Ajay Bijli, when asked to choose between two cocktails, asked for something simpler instead. So he doesn't like cocktails, we asked? "No, I always feel like there's a lot going down there," he said. And what, we asked, does his taste in movies tend to be ' apart from the ones he produces? "Lots of kinds of movies, really," he said. "I last watched "The Last Station." It's the last chapter of Leo Tolstoy's life; it has Christopher Plummer and James MvAvoy. That one was really nice. Maybe it wasn't feasible for a theatrical release here, but I think it's out. Then, even though it was our movie, I thought "TZP" was pretty great!" And which one's his favourite? "That's a tough one!" he said. "Nearly impossible to answer."
AUCTION ACTION: Finally, the girl in the limelight (we mean Sonam, yaar) took to the stage, spoke about the activity and started the auction, going around the do and making fun of people. "Delhi men don't spend much, do they?" she exclaimed at one point, after seeing that not too many guys were keen to cough up the money for the bag. She was quite the life of the do, chatting and talking and laughing with everyone. Rima Mehra, after seeing her energy and vivacity, was quite amazed to hear that Sonam had been at it since that morning, making multiple brand-linked appearances all day, and she still had a dinner party to attend after the do!
