This thought occured to me, while replying to Sue's post... about whether it had ended for Armaan... and about him crossing his fingers...
firstly, i'll start with the no make up look they gave Riddhima, it made it look like, she was tired, hadnt slept all night, and that, no matter how much she vowed to her husband that she wanted to be with him ( yes, i loved that scene as well) but, when she came to meet Armaan, she like always became this totally different person...
she asks Armaan to look into her eyes and talk to her, but she herself cant do that still... when she pleads with him to move on, she cant stop herself from coming close and touching his face and explaining things to him the way she did once...
everything she says to him, she knows she is going thro the same as well.. and i am so glad, she admitted to it as well.. masking it with the line, i still care for you Armaan, when it was so clear it was far from that...
it was as though, she wanted him to know, he must move ahead in life... and he wont do it without coming to terms with the fact that she also had.. so she said it as well..
but what i loved the most about the scene was the fact that she said... everytime you hurt yourself, you remind me of the fact, as to how bad i am... "tum mujhe yeh ehsaas dilete ho ke main kitni buri hoon" .... this kinda answered all my questions... as to why Riddhima is not so easy to understand... the problem with Riddhima is, she knows what is she doing, she knows how much she hurting Armaan, and upsetting him, but she would not never want to disturb the order of things around her just for the sake of love! she realises she has responsibility and she knows she cant back off from it.. and she also knows Armaan understands this... but being the kid that he is, he needs to be pampered and told that... and thats exactly what she did....

love,
niha

Two words:
AR FOREVER!

And i didnt agree with the last line though. Truthwise, armaan is acting EXTREMELY mature. I know that you know who i/ every AR fan thinks the immature one is in this show.

well niha i agree wid ur post totally.
ammy is surely immature at times..... well his charcter is lik taht.. he is very impulsive n loves hurting himself........he needs attention.he want sumbody to love him ,to care for him n taht sumbody fro him is ridz...... in the party wen he said go n luk after ur hubby it clearly said . ammy wants ridz attention her love ,her care.......jus lik a small kid.... bt the intensity varies..he is nt very xtreme on that.....ki he wants her n blah balh....he jus wants her to b happy...... n in all taht making her happy he is hurting himself......n doing alld estructive stuffs.in order to keep her out of his mind. bt both his heart n mind dosent want to take her out as it the soul reason for his living......

hmmm, I like your post - well said. But I do disagree a bit.

I thought that scene was beautiful too. I'm an huge AR fan, but I actually thought that she HAS moved on, and of course still cares for the guy (you don't forget your ex, unless you had a really bed ending). She actually prolly still loves him a bit, but is NOT IN LOVE WITH HIM, anymore. And that's what she told him, in not so many words. And she realizes he has not moved on. She knows he's a passionate person, and so she's resolved to help him.

As for the guilty part - I think your take is mostly right. She has moved on, and accepted life and the changes it brought, and is happy with them. He needs to do the same. She said to Sid 'he has to move on, just like I did'. They also showed Sid's surprised expression when she said that. So all in all, she HAS moved on, and she DID do it coz of the circumstances, not coz she wanted to, but she DOES love Sid now, and DOES want to be with him. That said, she also knows that she is the one who made teh decision and chose Sid over Armaan, and in turn has hurt Armaan, whether justified or not. So, Armaan needs to come to terms with it. When you 'HAVE' to hurt someone in the interest of doing the right thing, no matter how much reward there is in the right thing we do, the 'hurt' still comes and gets you every now and then.

And that is what she's experiencing. As Sid said 'somewhere, somehow, we're responsible for his (Armaan's) pain, and somehow, we're prolly the panacea too' So I think she realizes, that although without meaning to, she's responsible for his pain (SRians, don't jump me, I'm not blaming her, just saying that circumstances were such that she had to make a decision, and it was going to end up hurting someone, if not all three). And as such, she's trying to help him out of that pain and misery, for old times sakes, and also coz she feels partially responsible for it.

One other thing - her sentence about 'mein kitni buri hoon' I think stems from her need to be Ms. Perfect. His devdas attitude makes her feel she ISN'T Ms. Perfect, and that makes her uncomfortable, I think, along with feeling responsible of course.

Before ppl go bashing - lemme just say that after a long time I'm enjoying the DMG track - I think all 4 leads are doing a fab job, and I totally loved teh scene. My comments aren't meant to ridicule the actor/character at all.

See, I think members here write so beautifully and analyse scenes so nicely even if I don't agree with them but sometimes I wonder if we are looking too deep in to a scene. Do we interpret them more than the creatives do while writing?

I always take the example of my mum who is a general viewer sitting at home and I wonder what would she say. Because more than us its the people sitting on their couches (the trp-givers) who matter to the channels. I know if my mum had seen yesterdays scene she would say Riddhima still loves him. Yes she has moved on but there is a part of her which she has suppressed in order to move on which is why she said seeing Armaan like that re-opens old wounds. The 'dard' dialogues do mean something to the people watching their TV sets. They would ask, WHY is she saying all this if she has moved on. Why is she getting so affected if she isn't in love with him anymore.

Its not so complicated. The creatives are just keeping the door open for any possibility of AR!
