It's not about ppl getting the message. It's about ppl hoping against hope for their favorite fiction jodi to end up together for a happily ever after. I think everyone got the message that she's moved on, but ppl can still hope.
As for the scene, I didn't take or interpret it as one where she's giving messages or he is giving/accepting them ... I looked at it as a very beautifully scripted and acted out scene b/w two exes, who are at crossroads, and one has moved on, but is beautifully waiting for the other to move on. She's giving him the respect, the patience, and the friendship he deserves, to help him move on. She told him that she still cares for him - the part where he said 'I thought you're busy with your life' and she says 'that doesn't mean I don't care about you (or something along those lines)' was very very realistic for me. You don't up and forget the person, or start disliking them, just coz you've moved on. Up until now, the CVs were depicting all three of the lead characters and their behaviors very unrealistically. This last week or so - much realistic relatively speaking.
I loved how she showed that she's moved on, she loves her hubby (she didn't rub it in his face, which was good), and her hubby loves her, but she still cares for Armaan, as a friend, and knows him well enough to know he's inflicting pain upon himself in hopes to get out of the pain, or even to prove to himself that he IS indeed, alone. I loved how she basically, through promises, and reprimands, conveyed the point that he is NOT alone, that even though she's not WITH him, she's with him. As a different role this time, but with him nevertheless.
I think the CVs, and JW, did a fab job of acting as the supportive ex, and although it was Armaan who said 'I'll do whatever you want', it was SHE who is DOING whatever is necessary to get him out of this painful void he's in.
I'm liking it - but going back to your post - I didn't think it was about getting a message out regarding her marital status, her chances of going back, or anything of the sort. The last nail in the coffin was when she did the 'Mere Rang me Rangne wali' bit with Sid. I think this was about telling Armaan that he is NOT alone, even though she's not his GF anymore. And that he IS loved, and respected, and trusted, and very well understood.
