Excel College in Star One's Miley Jab Hum Tum, produced by Sunshine Productions will host a play based on Devdas in the coming episodes wherein the protagonists of the show play their part. Viewers are in for a fun-filled episode as their favorite characters don the iconic roles of Devdas, Paro, Chandramukhi and Chunni Babu.
While Samrat (Mohit Sehgal) will essay the role of Devdas, his lady love Gunjan (Sanaya Irani) plays the role of Paro. Ash (Sreejita De) plays Chandramukhi as Rohan (Nikhhil Chaddha) portrays Chunni Babu's character.
Our source tells us, "The only character that is missing from the play is Mayank (Arjun Bijlani). Mayank was initially to play Devdas but he could not make it back to Excel as he is busy finding out the whereabouts of Nupur (Rati Pandey). So he calls Samrat and requests him to take up the role of Devdas in his absence. Rohan is initially not interested in being part of the show, but when he gets to know that Ash plays Chandramukhi he steps in eagerly.
When contacted, Mohit Sehgal told us, "Yes, I play Devdas in the play and Gunjan is Paro. We enjoyed this shoot experience a lot. Basically, Samrat was trying to win the love of Gunjan back initially, but stepped back a little when he got to know that Gunjan did not like it. Later Gunjan did develop feelings for Samrat, but the very fact that he is responsible for Nupur's death does not allow her to get near him. So this is a good opportunity for both to be together. However, viewers need to wait a bit more to witness the milan of Samrat and Gunjan (smiles)".
We talked to Nikhhil Chaddha who quips, "The play will bring about some funny and emotional scenes. Even as I play Chunni Babu I keep staring at Ash who plays Chandramukhi. There will some intense and emotional moments in the play between Samrat and Gunjan. One incident that I can never forget is that the dhoti I was wearing was constantly slipping down and I had a tough time handling it".
