Firstly, I wasn't comparing tabu and kareena (kareena is no tabu...she has a long way to go).. my reason for bringing in tabu as an example is that i wanted to show that popular awards are no measure of an actresses's capability or achievement. It is the acclaim and appreciation one receives (both from the box office and critics) which counts, and i think kareena has garnered quite a lot of that. She has been succesfull commercially (3 Idiots, Jab we met, KI (i kno its crap but it was a Hit)) and critically (Omkara, jab we met, kurbaan and to an extent 3 Idiots)...she has also won popular actress awards @ star screen and stardust. So i think kareena, just like kajol, has achieved on both fronts. I never denied that Kajol is successful. My point is, so is kareena.

as for who the better actor is, that is ones own personal choice. I prefer kareena, u prefer kajol, thats fine. But please dont bring in the amaturish arguments abt actors personal lives. Who they date, and how many controversies they are a part of, dosent have anything to do with their talent/acting skills. It may have to do with popularity, but as far as i know, most of the people started hating kareena for all the controversies and the "saifeena" factor, with her being painted in a negative light for leaving shahid. But that still hasn't tarnished her popularity one bit. Perople still throng to the cinemas to watch her muvies and she is still getting offers from acclaimed directors. Dosen't that speak ounces of her talent and charisma as a female star actor?

Calling other's argument amaturish ain't gonna do it hun! Yes I will repeat kareena kapoor is not Tabu, the critical acclaim she has recieved is nothing compared to Tabu's in my eyes.(And don't call me silly again to bring Tabu but that is what your are suggesting na that you can't be the biggest mainstream actress but can be talented and your success can be measured in the critical acclaim like Tabu's) And nor did she end up becoming a darling of pop cinema acc to me. So she is neiher here nor there. And yes in my eyes success achieved through humble means holds importance As Mahatma gandhi has said it means also count not just the end! How you go about achieveing your success and your journey is more imp than success. And that is how you will be remembered that will be your legacy. So in that depratment Kajol wins. And two flicks that kajol did DDLJ and KKHH are far bigger and heavyweights and almost epic flicks compared to any bebo movies. I know these flicks are ridiculed here as part of pop culture but no one can deny their imp, and fortunately Kajol just wasn't standing next to the hero looking pretty in these flicks, she was standing there shoulder to shoulder with the hero and was the center of attention. I am a semi-kareena fan, so I would say for me its an honour that Bebo is working with Kajol and there is no comparison to begin with.

IMO Both Kajol and Kareena are both gorgeous and talented in there own different ways. They are like chalk and cheese very different from each other.

Years to come both will be remembered for the movies they did.

Kajol has the rawness and spontaniety in her and that's why you cannot take your eyes off her when she is on screen. Looked gorgeous on screen.

Growing up I loved watching her on screen and create magic with SRK.

Another reason why people liked her was she did not fit in the cookie cutter like barbie dollish bollywood heroines who are obsessed with looks and there figures. She was very real. People could identify with her looks and body.

But I felt she could have explored some more and done some versatile roles in the later part of her career like how Karishma did some off beat films I am sure Kajol would have rocked in doing some off beat roles.

I feel in the second half of her career she just struck on to the comfort zone of YRF/KJO/SRK. Actually even now she is still works in the safe zone which is fine bcoz am sure she has a comfort level with them . Almost all of her best actress awards are in the movies associated with these people.

She is very talented and a natural actress, But definitely she should have tried out movies with different directors and different genres.

I am sure the audience would have loved her in those roles too.

Coming to Kareena, a beautiful girl and very talented too. She has her good days and bad days. In a short span she has managed to do a variety of roles with diff directors and diff genres. Some have worked, some have not, But definitely will give credit to her for trying out.

But its unfair to compare there box office success and awards. You can compare if they had started there career at the same time. Kajol started in 1992 and Kareena in 2000 so how is the comparison fair.
