Who will steal the show in K-Jo's We Are Family?
by Amrita MukherjeeBoth actresses are extremely good-looking and hyper talented. Both are held in high regard in T'Town for their acting skills, professionalism and dedication. And now Kajol and Kareena are all set to share screen space in Karan Johar's
We Are Family, inspired by the Hollywood superhit, Stepmom.
The last time Kajol and Kareena starred together was in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), where Kajol stole the thunder from the comparatively new to the industry, Kareena. Nine years later, a much more experienced Kareena is set to rub shoulders with Kajol again. Who will walk away with the accolades this time? We play the rating game.
Kareena
LOOKS: Glowing skin, a figure to die for, great style sense – Kareena Kapoor is at the top in the looks department. She follows a strict diet, does yoga regularly and can carry off both body con dresses and sexy saris. Even with no-make-up, hair tied in a loose ponytail and wearing a pair of tracks, Kareena looks the quintessential star.
RATING: 10/10
TALENT: At a very early stage in her career, Kareena had the courage to experiment with roles (Chameli), but a hit as a solo lead eluded her for seven years until Jab We Met happened. So it's her undoubted talent that kept her among the top five of B'wood heroines and not box office numbers.
RATING: 9/10
DEDICATION: Kareena is a true professional. She reaches the sets dot on time, doesn't give producers grief in any way and can spend endless hours on the sets without
any complaints.
RATING: 8/10
Kajol
LOOKS: When Kajol made her debut in the film Betaabi, she got flak from critics for using a foundation that was shades fairer than her skin tone. So she learnt quickly to play up her own natural complexion, although she never did manage to hit the gym and work on her tum. Kajol might not be drop-dead-gorgeous but she has a beautiful, mobile face and super intelligent eyes. Be it on-screen or off-screen, Kajol needs to work on her styling though.
RATING: 8/10
TALENT: This is where Kajol is streets ahead of any other heroine. Even after becoming a mother, she has two huge hits – Fanaa and My Name Is Khan. Something that even diva Madhuri Dixit failed to deliver. Kajol on screen is brilliant, most often her eyes do all the talking!
RATING: 11/10
DEDICATION: Dedication comes naturally to Kajol. She's always fully committed – as an actress, a wife and a mum. Now that she's made a comeback, she does a fine balancing act between family and career.
RATING: 9/10
Masala verdict:
Going by Kajol's track record, we're predicting she will give Kareena a tough time and grab most of the attention. But now that Kareena has matured as an actress, she will not be a pushover either, unlike in K3G. Of course, poor Arjun Rampal will be thrown totally in the shade
by the two girls!
Umm… we were wondering how Karishma would have played Kajol's role… we would have had so much fun doing a sis vs sis story!
Think, Karan, think! Do plan a WEF 2. At least for our sakes!
