Hi Hi and Salam everyone!

I was watching Super Shaitan when this great idea came to my mind.

For those of you who dont know, Super Shaitan is a GREAT show on PTV Prime at 9:30 EST every Thursday...i encourage all of you 2 watch it!

In this show, Super Shaitan criticize various aspects of society.As you can see from the title of the thread, this week's discussion was on Media of Today and how corrupt it is.

I loved the way they presented it, not only did it enlighten us with the REAL truth, it had a kind of comic twist to it

OK enough of my lecture...

What i want to do is have a weekly discussion on the social issue brought forth in Super Shaitan each week. Kaisa laga mera yeh idea? I hope u all join me in the discussion!...u better..werna....

some points raised in 2day's issue:

-TV is all about Glamor, nothing can be a hit unless there is provocative dressing, Dirty Music, Vulgarity etc.

-The story does not matter, tv is made 2 eat away people's minds and prevent them from thinking so the stories should not involve any sense or require thinking.

-The directors dont care about the movie/serial and direct it with no interest and they have no talent. and they dont know how 2 hire people with talent.

- Buttering people and "sources" are all that is needed to succeed and people can go a long way with it regardless of their lack of talent

- The producers think that they have no real responsibility to the show but when time for the publicity comes they r all over the place making it seem like they did all the work.

- There are soo many channels and all of them think they r "successful" because their material is more pointless and illogical than the channels before them. The people running these channels think they can play anything on their channel because it is a private channel and the government wont have a say in it.

these r the main issues i remember..if others watched it and remember ne other points raised tht i missed plz do add them

heres what u do: tell me whay you think of this issue? Is baat paye app ki raye kia hai? Do u perfer 1 hr traditional PTV styled serials or the "modernized" 30 min dailys they have on now? why do u think TV is going through this reformation? Is it necessary? Basically, i jus want your 2 cents on this topic

u asked about thetelecast time at that time when there ws only ptv to watch v cud give our 1 hr 2 tv but now a dayz half hour drama is enough for us bcz there r a lot of channels in media & they need attention & now not only tv otha media sources r also waitin 4 us
c example if v watch main aur tum @ the same day we watch knk & may b sum otha program that y v hav no time to waste our 1 hr thats y i think half hour drama is better than 1 hr but it shud be refreshin like ptv's 1 1hr drama

I completely agree with all the things mentioned, they are so true. I went to Pakistan after 2 1/2 years & everytime I go to pakistan I feel so much difference with everything. some are good but the others I dont like. Now there are so many pakistani channels but I dont think that any channel is showing what our culture is, most of the shows are just pakistani version of some indian show or some american show, basicaly they are just under the influence of hollywood & bollywood. same type of talk shows, same type of reality shows, same type of skinny ladies in sleevesless top & jeans standing, moving their hands & doing the shows like hollywood tonight, I cant see anything which is close to our culture, most of the time ultay seedhay ganay aur naach, I m absolutely not impressed, aur phir is media say influenced hamaray pakistani log...eik sahiba bohat fakhar say keh rahi theen k hamaray bachon k liay to sub say mushkil kaam hay urdu likhna aur parhna, not to mention that un k bachay r born & raised in pakistan, but they dont know how to read & write even speak urdu properly & they were taking private tution just to pass urdu.
I still like the 1 hour long drama done in 13 episodes, like we had mehndi & I think still those dramas are more successful.
media is the strongest thing to influence younger generation, I find out that the young generation specially teenagers born & raised in canada, US, UK & all countries other then paksitan have more awareness of their culture & religion, they are more proud of their mother tongue & they are more honest. I am not saying for every youngster living in pakistan but I m talking generally & all this is becuase they are so much influenced by the life outside pakistan.
Brian Adams had his concert in karachi when I was there, I was tired of the advertising & I said kia har waqt ye aata rehta hay & my nieces & nephews said khala its brian adams jaisay k wo aasman say utri koee cheez ho, they purchase Rs 4000 tickets to watch his concert, the concert was outside karachi near steel township & ppl were more excited about the concert then the cricket match(it was the match which pakistan won) some of the youngsters were at national stadium till 5 & then they went for the concert & again to national stadium next day
so as I said I m not impressed by what media is doing in pakistan, it is necessary to stay current with the world but they should not leave our culture & teaching of islam behind.

very very very tru😉...im not saying it cuz it applies 2 me...but i went 2 pakistan this summer and i noticed tht i know more abt my culture and religion and i respect and live by these values more than the ppl there and ppl thot i was weird cuz i was frm USA and i wasnt wat ppl expected a teenager frm USa 2 b like...they were amazed tht i spoke urdu well and tht i was intact with the religion and culture...and i thot they were crazy 2 think tht living in America made me a gori😆

u know my relatives in european countries r also very religious i think more than us but cant speak urdu that well & u know the upper class in pakistan is dyin to copy india & otha western countries i dunno y they shud prefer urdu but they prefer english infact i m afraid they might change their mother tongue

btw in which city do u stay in pakistan

they r in the influence of indian culture.........

do u think dat every private channel of pakistan showing various indian programmes in their daily shedule programme.showing indian drama whose r not much famous but they carry on with it

i think all the points made r good n true and i would prefer to watch 1hour serial than 30 mins daily,its the audience who have made these channels to make shows like Indian shows but if they cant copy it properly then y not stopi makin those shows i mean make something like old ptv serials where there is messeage behind the epi/show and entertainment too for the audiences
overall i think i'm sick of watchin TV everywhere 30 mins epi/show and sometimes i just want to break the remote and TV 😡 😳
1 other thing, Vulgarity (speelings 😳), did anyone watch Ana? i did and that epi where Amna and Jav's hubby get married they showed that belly dance i cant watch that serial now with my bros and father sitting there i strongly think they shouldnt have showed something like this that was soooooooo out of order 😡 🤢
