The unexpected

I thought everything was going the right way,
Everything started to change one day,
You said you loved me and that you always will,
We felt the same we both knew it was real.

Seemed as if our world would have never ended,
Because the love was there throughout time spended,
If you love me then why is loneliness all I feel,
You said you'd be there that was the deal,
On my own I took a chance and gave you my heart.

Did I know I set myself up from the start,
I always believed everything you said was true,
You didn't trust me but I trusted you,
So tonight I lay my head down and cry,
You broke my heart

There was nothing but my heart,
I knew that I did not have a chance from the start.
I had a dream that we ended up together,
But nothing lasts forever.
When my dream died,
I could not feel anything inside.

My love for her was still true,
Even though I can't stand being blue,
I thought she would fill the empty space in my heart,
But all she did was tear my life apart.
