Who can forget the epitome of a character that Dilip Kumar played when he portrayed Devdas in Bimal Roy's evergreen classic? Or even Sanjay Leela Bhansali's version of the modern Devdas in Shahrukh Khan?

Well, the latest is that DJ's Creative Unit is working on an adaptation of Devdas, and this time it will be on the small screen!! And if sources are to be believed, the handsome hunk Iqbal Khan who has been missing from the limelight after Zee TV's Waaris is all set to play this epitome character on television'

According to our khabroo, "The cast for the untitled show is almost finalized, and Deeya and Tony are making this show for Zee TV. Iqbal Khan will be playing the lead role, while Binny Sharma of Dance India Dance fame has been finalized for the role of Chandramukhi".

Additi Gupta of Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil fame has been offered the role of Paro, but we hear that the actor has not given her nod yet for the same.

A little birdie also told us, "Talented veteran actor Aroona Irani has been finalized to play the male lead's mother in the show".

When contacted, Aroona Irani confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am doing this show for Zee TV. It is a very nice role, which I wanted to do at any cost. For this, I have even rejected two or three other offers that came my way".

We tried calling Iqbal Khan and even sent him a text message, but did not get any revert. We also tried calling Binny Sharma, but she remained unavailable.

When contacted, Additi Gupta said, "Yes, I was offered this show. But I am not doing it".

We hear that the creative team plans to wrap up with the casting process very soon, and if all goes well, aims to start shoot in a week or so. The show is expected to take a prime time slot on Zee TV, and will launch in August.

We also tried getting a confirmation from Producer Tony Singh, and sent him a text too, but did not get any response.

What say folks? Are you game to watching 'Devdas' on the small screen now??

Additi Gupta who was lately seen in Star Plus' 'Zara Nachke Dikha' and unfortunately faced the first eliminator of the show will soon sizzle on Zee TV with its new offering 'Sanjog Se Bani Sangini' which is basically a story of two childhood friends which then turns into a love triangle. As reported earlier that the story is based on the famous legendary story of Devdas.

Same like Devdas the show has Rudra (Iqbal Khan) who fails to get his childhood love Pihu, played by Additi Gupta and takes to alcohol. At this point of time, enters Gauri (Binny Sharma) into his life like a breath of fresh air. So Additi talking on her role says, "I am not thinking whether my role will be liked by audience or no. I am just concerned about my work and for that I am concentrating on my acting. As I have started with a new role I am feeling insecured about the acting as how do people will accept my role and will I be successful in bringing the character alive or how I would be in the show. It raises many more queries in me like will the show work good for me or not? Would my acting be appealing to the role or not? I am totally insecured with my new show".

So when you will feel better with your role? "Actually according to me a kind of insecurity must be there in everyone because as per I am concerned if you are insecured for anything, you will work more hard to achieve it in a better way, so being insecured for me is a kind of positive aspect".

Well, we too agree with you Additi, let's see how far your insecurity will take you to the triumph.

She then shared her experience about working with Iqbal Khan, "Oh its great to work with an actor like him who is so passionate about his work but at same time he is very friendly on the sets."

The channel and production house are busy shooting for their outdoor schedules at Haridwar and at the Pataudi Palace in Delhi. Sanjog Se Bani Sangini will launch on August 16th at the 10 PM slot.

Anjali Abrol develops cold feet while Additi Gupta takes the chance for DJ's Creative Unit and Zee's upcoming show'

Tellybuzz has been extensively reporting on DJ's Creative Unit and Zee's upcoming show tentatively titled Sanjini based on the classic love-story of Devdas. We had reported that Additi Gupta of Kis Desh fame was the original choice for portraying the character based on Paro. However the actress at that time had rejected the role. The offer was later made to Anjali Abrol who was last seen in Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat.

The latest lowdown is that Anjali has declined the offer as she happens to feel that more of prominence is being given to the character based on Chandramukhi which is portrayed by Binny Sharma.

When contacted, Anjali confirmed the news saying, "I'm not doing this show because when I heard narration of the script I felt that the other female lead would get more screen space. This prompted me to refuse the role."

Though fans of Anjali Abrol may feel sad, Additi Gupta's fans have reason to rejoice as the actress has accepted the role and even started shooting.

Additi Gupta confirms the news saying, "Yes, I am playing this role in Zee and Creative Unit's upcoming show. The character is very different from what I've done before. The girl is egoistic just because she's got everything she's wished for in life. I have started shooting for the show."

As we know Zee TV has come up with a very unique and interactive campaign wherein the viewers can send in their favorite titles for the show. The promo for the same is on air. However, the promo for Sanjini shows only Binny Sharma and Iqbal Khan. There is no mention of the second female lead. It is being speculated that, it is this promo that gave cold feet to Anjali Abrol. Probably Additi found some spark in the show, some conviction that her role won't be sidelined after all which convinced her sign up for it.

We can only hope that Additi made the right decision and gets the deserved screen time!

Additi Gupta Says, "I Am Back In Action, Fans!"

As reported by TellyCafe that Anjali Abrol who had initially gave her nod to essay Paro in D.J's next has recently refused to essay the role because she don't want to share the screen with her co-actor Beeny. It was really a bad news for Anjali's fans as they have to wait for some more time to see more of her but the news is really going to be an electrifying treat to Additi Gupta's fans as the role of Paro which was initially refused by Additi is now accepted by the girl.

Speaking to Additi she says, "I would love to convey it to all of my fans that I am back in action and you all are going to see me soon in a very different role than Heer of 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil'. You all will love the role. I won't be essaying a role in parallel line of Heer but will be in totally different mold. I won't be false in my behavior but realistic in life. It does not mean that I will be in negative role as my character is fare enough innocent and good natured".

"I will portray how exactly the people (girls) are in reality and will emit all the qualities like ego, anger, annoyance, love, care and everything", adds excited Additi.

So are you comparing Heer and Paro of D.J's next? "No! Not at all. Both the characters are carved suitably. So I won't compare the role which I had essayed before. Here in this show I am more real while Heer was very simple", Additi concludes.

Additi has personally asked TellyCafe to convey this to her fans that she will soon appear in front of them. All we can say here is countdown begins for Additi!

Iqbal Khan and Aditi Gupta Back on Television

There's good news for fans of Iqbal Khan and Aditi Gupta. These two will be seen in a new show called Sangini on Zee. The show is based on the legendary tale of Devdas. Iqbal Khan will be seen playing the role of Devdas, whilst Aditi Gupta will play his Paro. Also there's reason for fans of Binny Sharma, of Dance India Dance Season 2 fame, to rejoice as well. Binny will essay the role of Chandramukhi in this new take on Devdas by the producers: DJ's Creative Unit.

Initially Aditi had declined the role of Paro and then the producers approached Anjali Abrol of Raja Ki Ayegi Ki Baraat fame. However Anjali soon left the show since she believed that Chandramukhi's character is getting more screen space. This is when the producers again approached Aditi, and this time she accepted the offer. Aditi is quite excited about this role as it gives her a chance to portray a realistic character. A character that is very egotistical but also very innocent and kind.

Other than Aditi, Aroona Irani has been signed to play Iqbal Khan's mother in the show.

Promos for the show are already on air, wherein Iqbal Khan and Binny Sharma have been shown. One of the recent promos on air shows Binny holding a picture of Aditi, while Iqbal Khan is shown screaming for a girl named Pihu.

The promos look quite interesting and the pairing of Iqbal and Aditi, as well as Iqbal and Binny is quite new and fresh. Fans of Iqbal and Aditi will definitely be watching the show for their favourites, but the concept and fresh pairings certainly deserve a watch from others as well.

3- what is her character 's name and what kind of character is that?

additis character has many scopes u know we l get to know arrogant addti yaar in the show .. a beautiful girl
second lead well binny will enter laterrr thn addti but who cars if she is second lead ppl will know it later first they l see ags love too rudraa thnn her arrogance she l leave soooo no need to get hypered fo future if ppl loved the track might b they l kepp it like they did for prem
her name is pihu as r the new promo nd rest gd knowss

now the rest can be answered by creatives i mean might b those ppl r confusing us u never know the trackk of the story ...
