Beware! This is a lengthy post....but it must be said. 😃
Some of us have recently noticed this show has been
threatening to go off the tracks that we are have decided to self-appoint
ourselves the official WATCHDOGS OF PRATIGYA in an effort to save our favorite
show from falling TRPs and going off the air.
We are after all the viewers and as the saying goes, we,the CONSUMERS
ARE ALWAYS RIGHT.😃 We are sure the
Creators get that we express our opinions and thoughts in the right spirit with
the best of intentions.👏😃 We are taking
the liberty to draw their attention to a few things that have "machchar ki
tarah" bothering us recently.😕😲
We appreciate good acting, casting, plots and dialogues. This show started off
with giving us just that. To date, we have applauded them when they got it
right and we will continue to call on them when they fall of the tracks.
After all we are watching this show bec' it's a ONE OF A KIND DRAMA in
many ways and we want it to stay that way and get back to #1 across channels
with the highest TRPs EVER in the history of Indian television.
Pearl Grey has said that the networks have given her free
creative control. That puts the responsibility for the finished product we get
to see firmly in her court. Hai na? Can't blame the network executives for this
one.
Pearl Grey created Krishna, a one of a kind hero after investing a lot time and
effort. Whether intended or not,
Krishna turned out to be the heartbeat of the show. Pratigya,the low pulse,
has turned out to be a weaker character from the start. She was labeled a
strong heroine which some of us question to this day.
Prats has accomplished diddly squat without Krishna's help
in one form or another. Whatever she has managed to get done on her own has
created one mess after another. She creates the mess then runs around finding a
way to clean it up. Only situation where she has not been the cause of the
problem wherein she steps to do what is right by another woman and fighting for
her rights was her saving Kesar's baby, but even then Krishna was her saving
grace from Katra Naresh. Why is the female lead glorified for causing one mess
after another in her own life or for her families ever since she arrived back
home only to anoint herself the savior and fix it with Krishna's help?
Krishna is popular with audiences bec' he was a unique one of a kind anti-hero
never seen on TV before. Arhaan Behll has put his own stamp on Krishna and made
this character shine right from the get go. His portrayal of Krishna has always been real and believable but
recently the character has been morphing in ways disliked by the viewers, much
to our dismay. Not Arhaan's fault here. As a newcomer to the industry Arhaan has been very impressive as
Krishna and has excellent on-screen chemistry with all his co-stars, something
very few actors bring to the table... like Meryll Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Jack
Nicholson and Robert Redford.
The show was promoted as a unique love story and we have waited with patience
watching the twists and turns in their journey with anticipation.😃😊😛 However
recently too many tracks have been introduced with different promos being aired confusing
the viewers even more about the direction of the show.
The Pratigya Niwas promo aired as recently as yesterday, yet it seems disconnected from the current track.😕 Are these teaser promos served as mini appetizers while we chew on the current tracks like stale bread we are forced to swallow, as, with bated breath, we anticipate the arrival of our favorite entree yet to be served.😛 At the moment we are watching other patrons (shows) enjoying our favorite dish😲(the promised love story).
Since Prats was thrown out from SS Niwas, it feels like the creators have lost their focus
and we are watching a show riddled with attention deficit issues.
The plot lines are disjointed, disconnected and the episodes lack continuity
from day to day. For those of us who watch and maybe even re-watch episodes to
catch the nuances and hidden clues for upcoming tracks it has become more
"what's up with that?" moments.
Here are a few on our checklist as reminders to the Creators, not that we need
to remind them of their jobs. But as the WOP (Watchdogs of Pratigya) we would
like to bring your attention to the following issues.
1. Krishna Krishna Krishna is slowly morphing into a wuss before our eyes. WE DON'T LIKE IT! Don't we already have one on
them on the show in Adarsh bhaiyya?😲 The rough around the edges guy with an attitude surely has to change his
ways some and grow up. But does he need to become a ditzy,
dumb, henpecked dude to win his wife's love? The answer is a resounding NOPE. As the saying goes, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.👍🏼
2. Please pay attention to continuity in scene, day to day. E.g. one minute Krishna is angry and venting, next minute the show goes on as if nothing was ever said.😲😕 We are paying attention to little details here, after all we are the watchdogs.😉
3. Introduce your story tracks......Aaram se. What's the rush?😲 Are you on a schedule to wrap up the show in a few months? Nahi na? So please take your time and develop the track, strengthen the plot, stretch it like chewing gum but not too thin 😃and we will watch.😃👏 We are looking forward to this show being on the air for years to come.👏
4. Please keep the characters and scenes "real" like you did in the beginning months. We were promised fiction that depicted reality. We did get that early on, but recently the reality has been sorely missing. Krishna getting into a fist fight with a customer in a food stall over a glass of water 👎🏼was truly a "what's up with that?" 😲moment.
5. Please keep the plot lines real. If the premise of the show is that Pratigya is a strong woman, why hasn't this strong woman admitted to her mistakes, changed her own ways first and shown some remorse for her behavior? Instead we see a self-absorbed, head in the clouds, clueless gal with a chip on her shoulder who is the source of the problems in her life, who then manipulates every one around her, uses her naam ke vaste pati for her selfish agendas and we are expected to believe that she is a woman of strength? NOT!👎🏼 If you tell us she is a girl on her way to becoming a strong woman that would be more believable at this point and we will accept it to some extent for now.
Now,BOLBO, tell the Creators what bothers you 😕about the direction of the show under this banner....WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? created by the W.O.Ps.
We hope to see these glitches fixed pronto so we get to enjoy this show for months and years to come. 😃
