Ghar Jamai !!!

Oh how I hate this term being used blatantly in our serials. Is it a crime to be a ghar jamai. And who is objecting. Mahaan Simi, herself being a woman is putting her foot down. Shame on her being a woman is taking such a stance. She can object to Anuj, Abhi being jobless but what the heck is she objecting about ghar jamai. When a girl after marriage has to stay in her husband's place why not the husband stay with her parents. Maybe for not forever, for sometime. I hate this concept being looked down upon in our society. Personally speaking we are 3 daughters and no brother, so what if one of us stay with our Parents to take care of them during their old age. Does Simi's shaan , maan maryada hurt if her brother stays with his wife's parents. Why these double standards. She should be objecting to all of them enjoying inspite of being jobless and not earning a penny. Just mauj masti they do with their parents money. shame on them.

sorry to say but i dont agree with ur thoughts,the situations r completely different.if its a serious need u have to stay with ur inlaws then its ok ,but just to satisfy one's selfishness i dont think in any way its correct to stay with them,by the way " yahaan par RS,manju,simi,abhi aur milli ko hi problem hai anuj ke ghar jamai ban ne mein ",anuj doesnot have any problem bcoz as RS said he doesnot have his own selfrespect.y do u need anuj to stay with his inlaws just to satisfy anitha's evil plans ,the tarneja's have a son and capable of handling every problem and to look after them .and what about anuj's responsiblities towards his parents.

I think it really depends on the circumstances. Both the son and the daughter should take care of their own parents and their in-laws, especially if they have no other support.
In the Taneja's case, they already have Abhi/Simi helping them whereas Sethi's would have no one with them if Anuj goes. Milli is there for now but she'll leave eventually for school/marriage. I don't think it has to do with self-respect really but with sense of responsibility. It would be irresponsible of Anuj and selfish of Anita to not live with Sethi's but then again maybe Sethi's are better off not having such an evil, manipulative daughter in law living with them.
