Rakesh gaining appreciation with easy songs

Alright, I know that he sang beautifully today as well, and he has been consistent. However, the problem is that all of his performances sound the same to me now. He is repeatedly singing songs of the same genre, while you see people like Sreeram and Shivam taking a bite out of difficult compositions. For example today, I felt that Sreeram's singing was more outstanding, there was a classical/sufi touch to the song, something that Rakesh hasn't even gone close to yet. Sreeram was absolutely bang on in his interview when he said that Rakesh needs to try songs out of his comfort zone. For me, he does not deserve to be the Indian Idol. Singers like Shashi have been evicted after singing songs away from his genre. He could have just sang heavy classical based songs if that was the point he was trying to prove. Suleiman Merchant once said on another show, you cannot keep swimming in a river, thinking its an ocean. Rakesh needs to go out there and explore , music is something that you can never learn enough of.

I agree with you 100% this is really getting boring to see Rakesh perform same kind of songs. No dpoubt that he is great singer but is limited to romantic songs. This is just my POV and i strongly feel that he should come out of his comfort zone and give a good competition to Sreeram and Shivam. Actually I was impressed with Swaroop as he tried something different today.

very true.....i thot i was the only 1 who felt that.........i always find him boring..every song i know he sings well but i cant just connect . yesterdays gala.....also he was the only one who chose an easy song and sung it well as expected!! a clever ploy as well!!

A very apt post Don_123 ji...hmmm good 2 see ppl share common thoughts on few aspects of Singers...I agree infact i want every one 2 try n sing the complex songs which Sreeram sings n then we can judge whoz the best of all .its not fair to judge everyone equally not considering the complexity of songs chosen .its disappointing in tht angle...Hope no offence is taken by my below comment......... salt can be very pure but v cant compare pure salt with pure gold....can v..when will ppl get to know these simple facts..right...GOK...apologies 2 anyone if offended by my comments...but it was not meant tht way n I,m simply putting forward my thoughts..tqs for understanding....

If Rakesh is getting bikes for singing the same kind of songs, then, I wish Swaroop sings only folk songs, then he would get a bike too....not thrice but more than that....😲
I wish Naushad sang RFAK songs or in that genre, then he would also get a couple of bikes...and Bhoomi should just rap😆

I agree with you all. Rakesh sjould try difeerent genere songs. He is not comparable to Sreeram.
