Update for Tuesday, June 29, 2010:

This was my birthday treat from the makers of MM - no RKO, no oppari!

Vasanthi is getting ready to go see that film-maker and changes out of one outfit into a red sari. The previous outfit, sandana colored sari, is tossed up on the door, from where it falls and lands on the ground (symbolic of V losing her virtue?) as she leaves, locks the door and leaves the key with some athai nearby.

Meena, AM and Meena's brother go to the sambandhi's house. Right then, sambandhi amma gets a call from a friend of hers to her daughter's valaikaapu. Sambandhi tells about her son's engagement, friend asks who is the girl, sambandhi amma tells all, friend is the lady constable who arrested Tamil on the prostitution charge, she tells all to sambandhi amma who is fuming. The maid comes to tell her about Meena and party's arrival, she goes down with an angry look.

AM asks her if all is okay, she asks him what he wants, Meena talks about fixing the wedding date, she tells them she knows all about the secret. The brother doesn't know about this arrest incident, sambandhi amma tells all and accuses them of hiding all this. She tells them to leave the house, Meena tries to explain that if this wedding is canceled on these grounds, then their other daughters also will not get married, (so to help Meena's daughters get married, sambandhi amma should go ahead even if this was true about Tamil? Idhu enna nyayam?) but sambandhi amma orders them out.

Just as they come out of the house, Prakash and his dad drive up, and they ask them to come inside so that they can talk about the date for the wedding. AM is reluctant, but Meena persuades him. They go inside, and sambandhi amma asks them again to get out. Hubby wants to know why, she tells him about Tamil's arrest, Prakash says he already knows about it. He explains that Tamil called him that morning and said that she wanted to tell him about this. He liked her honesty and told her that their wedding would not be affected by this in any way. Meena and AM and brother are happy to hear this.

Yes! One more day without any RKO's!

Update for Wednesday, June 30, 2010:

Prakash tells his mother that when Tamil told him about the arrest, he knew that such an honest person would never do anything wrong, so he decided that, come what may, nothing will stop this wedding from taking place. He went and told his dad about it, and together they went and fixed the date for the engagement. Mom yells and says that all their relatives will kaari thuppi at them, but he says that he has to live his life for himself, not for his relatives, he is very clear about this. She is furious but can't do a thing. Dad tells AM the date, and says that they have fixed up a big mandapam, and now it is AM's responsibility to do the function jaam jaamaaga. AM and family take leave of this family.

Vasanthi is looking for the house. The bangles vendor comes out, sees her, calls out to her, she is hesitant about going inside the house, his buddy comes out and they act as if she is so beautiful she really won't need much makeup, but if she is hesitant, it is okay, and finally she decides to go in. This scene is revolting, so I won't talk too much about it. She goes and sits down, buddy tells vendor to get her something to drink, he puts something in the drink, she drinks it and becomes drowsy. Vendor takes pictures of her, buddy removes the thavani, she keeps saying that she wants to go home.

Tamil in the temple. She sees KS and KK, goes to them, greets them, asks about MK, then asks what the problem is between KS and her father, who gets angry the minute she mentions the name KS. KS asks her who her father is, she says it is Annamalai of Annamalai Sweets Stall, his face and KK's face show some strange looks, she wants to know what is up, KS tells her to ask her father, and he leaves with KK. Tamil is looking at their backs, and wondering.

Sorry about the brief update, but I found the Vasanthi scene so revolting that I just couldn't write much about it. Such scenes need to be censored.
