After two successful seasons, Imagine TV is looking for another suitable groom/bride for its proposed third season. Cricketers were initially on the wish list, but none of the celebrated and eligible Indian cricketers chose to oblige. The channel has since then gone back to hunting for prospective grooms/bride from the field of entertainment.
It's been widely buzzed that actor Vivek Oberoi could follow in the footsteps of Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan.
"The channel has definitely approached him, but Vivek is yet to revert. One is not sure whether he'll accept, but the channel is keen to have him," said a source.
While Oberoi might refuse to bite the bullet, there are hordes of other wannabe grooms and brides.
"Monica Bedi was the first to be offered 'swayamvar' but she refused the offer as she wasn't comfortable with the concept. Thereafter, the likes of Sherlyn Chopra, Bobby Darling and Kamal Khan have all been hounding the channel to take them for 'swayamvar'. The channel was looking at Chopra but her demand to get married in an exotic island was rejected. Kamal Khan, himself had expressed a desire to be part of 'Swayamvar 3', but he's said to be married with kids. It's unlikely that any of these names will figure in the show. The channel is simply hoping that Oberoi obliges."
'Swayamvar 3' is scheduled to begin in September. As of now, Vivek Oberoi, hasn't signed any new film, after completing the shoot for Ram Gopal Verma's Rakta Chatritra. The actor made a promising start to his career with films like Company and Saathiya, but his fortunes nosedived after his public spat with Salman Khan. Opting for 'swayamvar' many not be a bad thing for him though. After all, it's turned around the fortunes for both Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan
