In the first week of June, TellyCafe was the first to report on an eventual leap in 'Balika Vadhu'. Back then, some people denied the news, but as it turns out now, Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee are bidding farewell to the show that made them a household name. 'Balika Vadhu' is set to take a five-year-old leap that will see the entry of two new protagonists.
The channel today issued a release in this regard thereby corroborating our earlier story. 'Balika Vadhu' takes a five-year-old leap with both both Avika and Anandi leaving the show. Anandi and Jagdish will soon grow up and the young adults will be trying to deal with their situations in life. Auditions will commence soon. The channel and the production are targeting actors in the age group 18-20. The leap will take place from mid-July.
Avika remained unavailable for comment. Surprisingly, Avinash Mukherjee's father claimed to have no confirmation on this.
Though the show continues to draw good ratings, critics have felt that the leap was inevitable as the two kids have lost their charm. However, Colors will draw inspiration from the fact that the last time it opted for a leap, the viewers had whole heartedly welcomed the new Ichcha and Tapasya in their lives. Will it be the same for the new Anandi and Jagdish Balika Vadhu? We'll find out soon!
