STAR One's season 2 of Miley Jab Hum Tum has admitted new students into Excel College. Of the three students Rohan Singhle is the spoilt brat of the batch. He is a cool dude and every girl in the college has a crush on him. So we thought it might be fun to have a chat with Rohan (Nikhil Chaddha). Here's how it went:
What's the best part about Miley Jab Hum Tum?
I am happy that in my second show, I am a part of Miley Jab Hum Tum. I find this one of best youth shows on television and that's the uniqueness. There is no stretchy family drama.
Your character Rohan is arrogant and rash but seems mellowed down when it is about Ash, how is Nikhil Chaddha as a person in real?
Rohan is a brat who comes to college only for fun. He has always been surrounded by girls. He likes to play pranks on others. He does not have a soft corner for Ash but now he just wants to conquer Ash by any means. But as Nikhil Chaddha, I am not a spoil brat. I don't have attitude and I am not that rude and harsh. I am very calm and have good control towards my anger.
Are you as adventurous in real life too? And what's the most adventurous thing you have ever done, apart from attempting to get a girl's phone no. at a restaurant?
I am not that adventurous in real life but one thing which I love to do is to explore haunted places, which I have done when I was in Delhi. I used to find out stories from locals. There are many such places in Delhi; especially in the jungles adjoining Delhi are very scary. Rohan will take any girl for a date just for time pass but I can't do that.
What are the five best things about college life?
Now while shooting for this show, I am enjoying my college life but in real life after my 12th grade science, I did my Diploma in Hospitality and Aviation. I had never enjoyed college life but yes I used to bunk lectures and used to go for movies with my friends.
What was the brief you got for this role and how have you prepared for it?
What I was told by the creative people that Rohan is a flamboyant Casanova. Whatever he does in life, he does it only for fun, he is super rich so he doesn't follow girls, they follow him. As an actor I haven't done any advance research because according to me, the real essence of the character comes while performing because we get live updates by the show's directors and creative head.
From season 1, who was your favourite character and why?
Honestly, I have little information about the old characters as a whole but sometimes I used watch the show. I love the character of Gunjan because of her simplicity and her cute looks.
How is your experience shooting with Mayank, Samrat and other characters?
Up till now I have just shot a few scenes with them and it was nice shooting with them.
How is your rapport with the new batch of students at Excel?
Everyone is very friendly and the show has just started and how can I tell you about others at this moment but I can say about Ash as I have maximum scenes with her and so far the experience is good.
What do you like about STAR One shows?
The shows on this channel have unique concepts. There is very less family drama as this channel is known for giving chance to young talent. Now-a-days there are hardly any young shows but STAR One has given us two major shows-Miley Jab Hum Tum and Dill Mill Gayye. I am happy that this channel revamped its programmes.
Which is your favourite television show and why?
I don't watch much of the television shows as I am completely a movie buff and if there is some interesting track coming then I switch on shows like I watched all romantic song sequences from season 1 of Miley Jab Hum Tum and Dill Mill Gayye. I especially liked romantic songs from Kites film which was used after the marriage of Nupur-Mayank.
How stylish is Rohan?
Rohan is a super dude, he is super rich, every girl is ready to go for a date with him. He has an edge over Samrat. He is a hard core party animal. He is modern replica of him, they both are fun loving. He used to enjoy life to the fullest before the leap, which even Rohan liked.
What is the one thing that Rohan will not be caught dead wearing?
Rohan is not bothered about anything, he has a care free attitude towards life. He is such a person that he would tell his college principal, 'hey dude how are you?'
Which sports do you like for eg: car racing, bike racing and why?
I love cricket and sometimes I like football, especially in the rainy season.
Tell us something about Ash-Rohan's chemistry?
As of now there is no chemistry between us because now I haven't developed any liking for her because now I want to just win over her but he is very impressed with her attitude. Now at this point of time, we just have a hate relationship.
Do you want to know what will happen among new students of Excel College three years later....?
Rohan informs the students about his sister Riya joining Excel College. Nirbhay and Riya fight with each other as they have the same roll numbers. Mayank sees Nirbhay requesting Samrat to return his seat. Samrat is furious at Ash when she insists on being his friend. Rohan saves Ash from goons who misbehaved with her. Mayank provides accommodation to Nirbhay. So, lots of steaming hot people under the Excel college roof. So don't forget to watch the four new students who are completely opposite to each other every Monday to Friday at 9 pm only on STAR One.
