I agree with your post 110%. There much that I really like in the way you have expressed your words.
Thank you!
I think the first three months did a very good job to show the chemistry. However, the show killed it for me when the raised Simi's age and dropped Abhi's. Just to create controversy the ages were changed. To add, Abhi's character of mature, confident, smart and reassured person, was changed to a love sick puppy who was fearful of losing Simi.
I know, that made no sense at all, not so much that he chased but that he did this in spite of her indifference to their love and pheres in the Mandir. Even in the Mandir, she was paying more attention to her cell than the beautiful expression of his love by doing the pheras and sindoor.
Believe me, in the beginning I loved the chemistry and once in a blue moon it shows up
Exactly what I meant by my title, you caught it, thats awesome, Laila!!
but that's just once in a blue moon.
Like the number of times they showed affection or desire to be with each other, once in a blue moon and only one SR since their marriage!
Most of the time it's Abhi begging for Simi's love and affection and this behavior is so out of line of his character. Plus he's begging for the love a 30 year old woman who is not even meant to be attractive.
Simi on the other hand was changed to a woman who didn't care if she lost Abhi and had to wed Nakul.
This was the turning point for me in my attitude towards the writers, they changed her behavior to make her unlikable- it made no sense whatsoever after the build up in romance between them until then!!!
Suddenly she was preoccuped with taking care of her family. He did SO MUCH for her
I KNOW, I KNOW!! I KNOW!!
and there has NEVER been a single line from the writers where Simi has acknowledged what I Abhi did for her. They gave us one sentence when Simi stabbed Abhi in the back. However, even after that she never apologized for humiliating him.
That was such a heartbreaking scene in the living room in front of her father and family. And salt on the wounds the next day when she forced him to "prove" HIS love yet again in the "electrocution" scene. Was it you who coined that expression??? What of HER love were my thoughts then. She never said sorry.Exactly! Why did he have to prove his love to her when she was the one who insulted him. I was repulsed by the scene. She has NEVER thanked him from rescuing her from RB or Nakul. She's not even thankful that she lost her virginity to him and not two potential rapists.
Man, she has NO idea how good she has it, she got Abhi!!Not in the slightest.
It's sad to take a female character that is well-liked and turn her into a total bitch who is completely inconsiderate of Abhi. Totally agreed. A good female lead is someone whom you would want as a friend. I would NEVER want to have someone like Simi for a friend. Can you image, it would be take, take, take and not a word of thanks for your kindness or for thinking of me.To add, we have never had Simi ask Abhi, Abhi what did you see in me? No-one saw anything in me, but what did you see in me? Truthfully what I loved about Simi was her inadequacy in terms of her looks and who she feared that because of it she would NEVER find someone to love her. However the writers didn't take any of the traits that we liked about Simi and built upon them. Did she become arrogant after the Nakul marriage offer...that seemed so mean....The day Nakul showed, Simi was preocuppied with Neetu's disclosure regarding her pregnancy. Even after that she kept her mouth shut regarding the proposal. When she met Abhi in the park the next day she was afraid to see him because she had received proposal and didn't want to ruin it (hello! what's going on here). I didn't like the sudden change in her character. All of a sudden Nakul was ready to marry her and it was evident she was not the least bit bothered. Some people loved the engagement scene; I hated it. Simi showed no signs of appreciation or joy - she was more worried about Nakul catching her. Abhi had to beg her to be happy. She even made a face that looked like she disapproved.Throughout the whole saga she NEVER once spoke up for her love for Abhi or the fact she was hurting him.The writers could have done so much with the love story but the producers didn't care and they destroyed the show. I'm hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that they rise to the task and turn this around. I spoke to one of the creative people who was behind the show and this person told me the real truth. Thats so cool that you found this out for all of us here! It took a lot of effort to see if this person would tell me the truth and I was really blessed that this person agreed with me. The person is no longer with the show because of these differences - the age change, the poor development of the romance, the unwillingess to explain WHY a 22 year old would fall in love with a 30 year old woman who is meant to be fat and ugly to others.
I guess I watch the show in need to find that scene; however, I doubt we will EVER find answers to it. As you can see the manner in which the resolved the Simi and Abhi disagreement is a PRIME example of where the writers are headed: Destroy Abhi but make Simi look good at ALL costs. That's not what appeals to anyone. Yes, like watching a train wreck, horrified that he's behaving so uncharacteristically, literally wanted to jump in the computer and say no no Abhi noooooo, no no no Writers your writing sucks!!I agree!
The only redeeming factor here was watching how Neil apologized with so much love and remorse that it took my breath away to view that scene !!But WHY did he have to apologize? He's always apologizing to Simi - he was made to look awful to make Simi's actions look good. It was horrible to have to see him once again grovel for Simi's love and approval. She's the one who has him by the balls (Sorry but that's what it looks like). Neil Bhatt did a good job but the scene itself was the worst way this conflict between them could have been resolved. Thanks for sharing; I think we agree a lot more than we realized in the beginning😃.
Yes, cool.....above everything you and I and most of us here love the potential of this story and with the talent of all the members ideas here, the writers don't have to work so hard to turn it back on track...:-)I sincerely doubt it. After this Thursday's episode and the final reduction of Abhi to a stark raving lunatic, there is NO hope.
