Fashion and Looks...

Today's elimination on Indian Idol 5 proved that in the war between Talent and Fashion/Looks, it is talent that always loses and Fashion/Looks that triumphs as the winner.

I agree that Meghna was not great in the last gala but she was talented. Even more than Tia/Manisha. I was also shocked to see Arpita in the Bottom 3. The fact that these two girls were in the bottom three shows the importance of how someone looks on reality shows.

Meghna's elmination performance showed how talented she is. She sung her the song effotlessly and from the gestures of the judges it was obvious that she was brilliant. It's a shame she is no longer in the competition. Hope she gets a second chance through wildcard.

Heres wishing her all the best. She has a great future if she carries on working hard and with full dedication and determination.

Special Request to people who are actually getting to VOTE: Please vote for the talented and is a treat to the ears, not someone who is a treat to the eye. We already have lost two great singers, lets not lose the others who are not-up the mark and are not improving...

The fault lies in the system...

The fault lies not with the voters but those who created this voting system...which is biased, unafir and patriarchal...
indian iodl cre I think decide who will be eliminated/ who will be next...i dunno if votes are even counted...

The fault lies with the judges, and Annu Malik in particular who always compliemnts the singers on their looks first before making a comment on their singing.
He should stop doing because they do go through makeovers before they are made to face the camera.
Everybody can see whether they are good looking or not; he does not have to point it out.
And then he started off by saying that this year they have talent.
IF there is talent, come up with new comments - not the same old ones about looks.

I so agree with you... I don't know on what basis Anu Malik judges the contestant... Manisha was terrible in the galas, yet he said I want the audience to give you another chance... On the other hand, when Arpita and Meghna sang averagely well, he is like after that performance I am doubtful of what is going to happen and that you need to improve... Shouldn't the advice on improvement be given to Manisha who has failed to perform... Indian Idol is all about X-Factor and Looks nothing more... and the two eliminations has proved it...

You can make out in the auditions itself. He gets very excited if a good looking girl walks in.

This is why he is harsh with some contestants and soft on others.

His craze for yashraj is a mystery.

Thank goodness he still strongly recommends shivam bhoomi shashi and naushad

anyways todays show arpita and SHIVAM being in the bottom three just show what indian
idol voters are mostly made of. They are young people punching votes for their crushes.
I cant imagine how SHIVAM is in bottom. HOW? Its IMPOSSIBLE to believe. who is voting?
All young men and lecherous old men voting for least talented tia and manisha who wears less clothes?

Indian idol should soon be called Fashion idol.

Lolz at the bold comment...

I have seen this trend in reality shows... In all shows, the ones who are good looking and are presentable are voted mostly because most people voting are voting for their crushes...

And as for Anu Malik's craze for Yashraj... Maybe Anu has started believing in swinging both ways after seeing Yashraj... (This is just a joke... Please don't take it otherwise)....

I hope they eliminate the right person next week... It'll be shameful for another talent to walk out of the door, while style statements remain behind...

What's wrong with the system? And how can you separate the voters from the blame for the system?

When we lost Vishwas last week, I felt Indian idol voting system stinks. I am not too surprised about Meghna. I think she is a good singer but not as good as many others. I do agree though that Meghna is better than Manisha, Yashraj etc.

I think the best in the lot are Sreeram, Swaroop, Shivam and Rakesh.

Point taken.....Meghna would have been out at some point.....as for the system sucking....absolutely does...Manisha rightfully should have gone out this week....no question as she made boo boos in both galas....Tia did a little better in the last gala....Meghna did well in both....who should have been out????
As far as singing goes, Meghna was good, but the boys are better...Vishwas leaving last week sucked because he was a real challenge to all the contestants, why did he get booted out ?? beacause of age???
The System and Voters are both to blame as they go hand in hand....
What do you think of Shashi??😊

Meghna had to go, if not this week, then in the next few weeks. Its obvious they want more than a singer --- with the term "Idol" comes a whole package, which Meghna lacked. The problem then becomes that if Meghna isn't a good performer, and Manisha isn't doing all that great in her singing ... then will they pick a performer over a singer regardless of how awful the singing was?

This should have been Manisha's week to go. Two chances are more than enough, she is getting extremely irritating at this point. If they don't kick her out soon, I will do the honors myself. Arghh!
