am so upset with end,i feel cheated here....umera ahmed definitely lost her brain ,if she is one of many script writers ...my most disapointment is........
sara arfeen relationship ,and their interaction psot revelation, sara's final understanding of full drama and knowledge taht it was her ammi who broke off from every one once she was found to be true....adil sara relationship..he was shown as never married(here too we are just assuming he wasnt as hsi wife was never shown) ,hurtful about saba, still bit cold with arfeen,i would have loved to see him and sara interact moresara aksa interaction as to hwo could her aunt do what she did to her own sister.......and then have galls to yell at others including arfeen ......will continue with list...
Aksa:
Maybe this is irrelevant now, but on the character Aksa I have differing opinion to you all ladies and my wife. I wanted to bring it on the record of this wonderful thread with due respect to your views, just as my POV, just for my satisfaction.
At one point I was angry at her 'one' selfishness and her attempt at overriding Saba's last wish were untenable but…
Initially she was the only company to Saba, apparently her idol. She was witness to her sister's blossoming love, helpful and teasing. Her medley of repartees with Saba on the subject was sharp and a useful instrument to beautifully demonstrate Saba's mindset. Her 'duels' with Arfeen were the light moments of drama.
And she was protective of her too-observe the way she had sharply noted the pettiness of Shakeela's mindset when she brought Arfeen's bag to Saba… "kaise dikh rahi he aapa ko? Jaise kuchch chura liya ho…" –her son!-bringing the discordance to the notice of Saba's trusting mind.
Only time she failed o her was the time when entire family had faltered including Arfeen. The tide was overwhelming for a yet not adult girl… And YET, her despicable accusation regarding injuries to her own marriage simply can not be…and this, I take as one of the major inconsistency of narrative which was not even required for the course of tale as the inconsistent stand of the parents was necessary ( for the course, story has taken).
But then again she was the first among all relatives (except of course, Adil) to undo/prevent the disaster… "maafi mang leti Arfeen bhaiya se…" with tears, even if we, all knowing viewers, may condescend on this condescension from her.
And when we say Saba had never forgiven her family, at least she had not stopped loving her sister. Looking at her sister with kind, pensive eyes…capturing her young sister for ever and then never …
Then before leaving for abroad, she was the only one who had tried to see her sister.
Maybe her fierce interference was almost an extension of self guilt, but again I say untenable. And ultimately she did fall in line with the Saba's last wish, correctly judging Haider as good match, ensuring Sara's welfare at the time of Nikah and admitting apology to Arfeen in the end.
One more jarring inconsistency from director/screenplay was regarding Arfeen's last opinion on her.
"Aksa ne hi kaha hei"… Haider corrects him and we viewers know that Aksa had not directly told Sara anything neither she had actually denigrated them.
Apparently in that particular scene, they were embarking on the portrayal of Haider as a matured, more evolved on the concept, but I wish that would have been done in some other way and not at the 'inconsistent' expense of Arfeen's judgment.
As enjoying the last week before departing again, one or two posts a day, on a wondrous serial, as if in an attempt to come out of its beautiful trance…
The applause is due to those actors who have brought to life the subtle nuances of intricate characters with varying degree of virtuosity, flair and professionalism, far exceeding their financial rewards when compared to their pampered Indian counterparts. (For endlessly stretched Indian soaps must be generating manifold more revenue and consequent pay out down the line, but alas not meriting it most of the time.)
1. Saba (Samia Mumtaz)- almost always flawless whatever mood/emotions were required …. Innocent happiness, sensitivity of a beautiful love, hurt and unbelief at unbelievable deceit and unimagined distrust, rare moment of a righteous rage, pain at the frailty of the nearest ones and then collecting herself to renounce the frailty … then onward…a state of inner radiance with a detached aloofness…👏👏10/10
2. Arfeen(Faisal qureshi) – Enthralling his audience with same flair, but I have to confess, a shade lower then other lead because in a few rare scenes, I felt a trace overact and in some scenes a bit repetitive in mannerism…But of course transformation between two ages is spellbinding…energetic enthusiasm of youth or weariness of a person defeated by his owns…The shock at the time of revelation… or grief at Sahibabibi's residence… 👏👏9/10
3. Mother (Samina parzada): Initially she was unnoticeable, but gradually, as her involvement deepens, she started exerting her presence… holding the attention and hatred of the viewers with irresistible sway. Whether as a consummate plotter or an unrepentant victor, a commonplace bragger or an unsatisfied selfish mother she had brought to life the pettiness of a very shallow woman with the skill of a master…and as a lost person consumed with her own guilt/demons she did manage to invoke pity…👏👏 9/10
4. Haider: A promising actor with complete sincerity to his role…8/10
5. Sara: Just like Haider…and if screenplay has lowered the character's scope…not her own fault…7/10.
6. Adil: Cameo kind of role …would he have been used more extensively…8/10.
7. Maharush, Aksa, Senior Mr. Abbas: supporting the narrative effectively and believably…6/10.
So , I may not have confirmed to some of the views of majority, but this is what I feel.
Friends
As another journey is reducing me to phone browser from tomorrow, I would like to thank you all for the generous welcome and patience at my languorous notes full of juvenile ideas and opinions. This indulgent tolerance is especially appreciated in the time when 'exuberance' in writing is generally frowned upon. The only excuse at this kind of overuse of welcome is that when I get attached to a fond discussion/project, I can not check my enthusiasm very effectively. Thanks again.😊
P.S. hey Arwen… tomm is Saturday…will you please check your channel whether they were secretly fooling us viewers-preparing a scoop- and coming up with one more episode having whipped up the uproar! 😆
