Dilemma # 1: Shekhar doesn't know where the tape is.

It is 12 mid-night. Shekhar can't sleep and is walking the halls of the Haveli, forlorn and upset. He is frustrated that he can't find the proof/tape and he knows that it has vital information that needs to be heard and that will answer all his burning questions.

He walks into the Mandir and shuts the Mandir doors behind him. He looks at Bhole Baba and starts to cry saying:

Shekhar

"Bhole Baba, hamri Mai ko yeh kya ho gaya hai? Kisne aisa kiye unke saath? Mere sawaalon ka jawab kab milega? Hamara chote bacche ki kasam, Laali ko marvane wale aur Ma ki is hallat karne waley ko dhoodh ke rahege. Chen se nahi soenge jab tak purey sach ka pata nahin lag jata. Kripa karo, Bhole Baba, ham par daya karo..."

Just then, as tears are flowing from his eyes, a garland on the picture behind which the tape is hidden by his Mother falls to the floor. He thinks nothing of it. He wipes his tears and walks over to put it back up on the picture of Bhole Baba when the picture moves and he catches a glimpse of something silver behind it. Curious, he moves the photo and discovers the niche where a tape recorder is staring at him right in the face.

He turns around to look at Bhole Baba and is aghast at the quick response of God. He reaches over and picks it up. Then he goes over and shuts the windows and makes sure the whole Mandir is secure.

He listens to the tape and is flabbergasted at what he hears...

The next day, he goes to his Mother's room when no one is there. Shuts the door and plays it for her. She has tears in her eyes.

Shekhar

"Aap yeh saboot ki baat karahi thi na, Ma?" She smiles signaling yes.

He says, "Ma, ab tumhe hamari madad karni hogi, kyuki ham wahan nahi they us raat, tum wahan thi jab hamri Ratna ham sab se chin gayi. Ab mey yeh tape bajaooga aur apse sawal poochoonga. Aap ha ke liye apni aakhen ek baar pharkaiye, na ki liye do baar. Thik hai na, Ma?"

They interact, he gets all his answers. What happened was in self-defense and Laali's sacrifices are easily seen. He weeps when he finds out what she has done for his Mother.

Shekhar

"Ma, ham Laali ke saath bahut bura bartao kiye. Woh bechari, pet se thi, par phir bhi tumhare liye jail gayi, hamne usko daroo ke nashe bahut kuch bura bhala kaha, humne usko akele, oos halat me raste pe chhod diya. Hamko aise nahin karna chahiye tha, hamse bahut bari bhool hogayi Ma, bahut bari bhool."

Dilemma # 2: Shekhar is eager for his mother to get well.

Shekhar calls the Vaid and he begins treatment says that:

Vaid

"Bitva Shekhar, agar tumne hamko thora pehle bulaya hota, tou ham tumri mai ki madad kar sakte they...lekin ab kucho kehna mushkil hai. Lakwa aise hi nahi chala jata."

Shekhar

"Vaidji, aap kuch bhi kijiye, ham aapko mu mangee rakam deneko taiyaar hai. Hamri Mai ko thik karijiye."

Gangiya is listening intently at the door. The Vaid starts to speak and Shekhar holds up his hand to stop him. Looks sideways and spots her, she hides behind the door. Shekhar walk over and shuts the door.

Shekhar continues:

"Vaidji, aap kosis tou kijiye, hosakta hai ki koi phaeda hojae, hamey aap pe poora bharosa hai."

The Vaid suggests some medications and says to Shekhar that he won't give him any false hope, as his Mai may never regain her ability to walk, talk, etc. but they should first start with these medicines.

Shekhar gets them and makes sure that only he administers them and keeps them in his safe in his room, so no one can tamper with them. He is very eager for his Mother to get well soon, preferably before the baby is born. He medicates her everyday. He gets women to massage her arms and legs and feet each day as a sort of primitive massage therapy as the Vaid had suggested.

One day, when they were alone in the room, the Thakurain moves her finger on her right hand where he is sitting on the bed. He doesn't tell anyone but he is overjoyed. Then slowly, each day she gets better and better until she begins to speak, but only in a whisper and that too, very slowly, the words are unclear but he understands them. The Medicine, or shall we say, Bhole Baba's Ashirwad worked.

She tells him:

Thakurain

"Babua, ba..ba..Babua...La..La..Laali kaisi...ha..ha..hai?" She weeps. He holds her hands and he weeps too saying:

Shekhar

"Hamri Maiya thik ho gayi..."

He smiles and tears well up in his eyes; the Thakurain inquires about Laali and he says she's okay and growing fast. He asks if he should tell everyone she can talk. She warns him not to share the news just yet, and has a good reason for it.

She says that though she can whisper and slowly is beginning to regain her previous strength, her wish is that no one should know. She explains why.

She says that in front of the whole family, she will pretend to be paralyzed in a wheelchair, but on the day when he plays the tape, she will dramatically stand up and talk in front of the whole family. She will explain what happened that night at the wedding in her own words.

Then she will reveal how she was starved, beaten, poisoned and tortured and by whom and for how long.

This will make Gangiya, RanVijay and Siddheshwari scared to death and they may try to escape. She wants Loha to see who the culprits are and how far they went.

She wants this to be a secret between her and Shekhar only.

At night, Shekhar sneaks Laali with Nadini's help into the Badi Thakurain's room. She cries when she sees Laali. Shekhar is there, Nadini is there, no one else. She touches her belly and blesses the baby. Laali is ecstatic that she is better and the lakva is leaving her body. Nandini and Laali will keep her secret and tell no one that she is well and can speak.
