Sitaji ka Sindoor
One day, Hanuman noticed that Sitaji wore a red powder in the parting of Her hair. Curious, Hanuman enquired, what it was that She was wearing. " Dear Hanuman, it is sindoor that I am wearing", said Sitaji. "What is sindoor and why was it so important?" asked Hanuman. Sindoor makes Lord Ram happy and would give Him a long and happy life, explain Sitaji.
Hanuman scratched His chin and thought and thought. He realised that Sitaji also did it because she loved Ram and showed it by putting sindoor in Her hair. "I love Ramji too," though Hanuman, "And I'm going to prove it!" So guess what He did? Well if Sita ji can put sindoor in Her hair to show Her love, He decided to cover Himself with it to show His love! He took the sindoor powder and smeared his whole body with it. And He felt very happy and smiled a biiig smile. When He entered Sita's room, He was completely red, His face, the nose, dhoti, everything was completely red. It looked as though He had taken a bath in the red powder!
Sita looked at Him in surprise and asked Him why he had covered himself in sindoor. With a shy smile Hanuman said, " Sitaji, you are a Devi, a goddess. By putting a little sindoor in your hair, you can make Lord Ram happy and His life longer. But I am only His servant, His dasa, so I will have to do more than that. And that is why I had to cover my whole body with sindoor." So that is the reason, the idol of Hanuman is all covered in Sindoor. This also shows the great love Hanuman had for Lord Ram and how much He thought about the welfare of Lord Ram, His master.
Another version of this story is:
when RAMji and Maiyya SITA & LAKSHMAN ji along with Hanuman were returning back to Ayodhya after killing Ravan, stopped at the BHARDWAJ MUNI ashram at the banks of SANGAM ,YAMUNA & SARSWATI ,HANUMANJI WAS quite exhausted and he fainted. All the possible treatment was given to hanumanji but there was no way left to wake up hanumanji ,RAM-SITA & LAKSHMANJI were very worried as to what would happen to Hanuman, then at last SITAJI put a tilak of her own sindoor(vermillion) on hanumanji's forehead ,as SITAJI's sindoor was a powerful ,pativrata woman sindoor ,sitaji's sindoor was said to be AMAR SINDDOOR (amar means one which never dies ,as the same way the love of RAM-SITAJI was immortal & sitaji used to put tht sindoor at RAMJI'S NAME on her forehead & in her maang(parting) ,when sitaji put the tilak of her sindoor on hanumanji's forehead ,immediately a miracle happened & Hanumanji was back to his senses. Hanumnaji woke up & became healthy again .
So that was the power of sitaji's sindoor that gave life to Hanumamji. HANUMANJI'S IDOLS are always painted with sindoori or kesri colour(the colour of sindoor is red & kesri both) .
A temple was built by the king of KANNAUJ at tht place where hanumanji fainted ,at the banks of sangam at allahabd around 700 years back .
Connection to CB: Shantanu is messing with the wrong person.....He is trying to harm Dev and thereby challenging Radhika's Sativ and her Suhaag..........Before a pativrata nari, like Sati, even God Yama had bow his head, and had to return her suhaag.....after all Shantanu is a ordinary mortal........Radhika is like a shield, a dhaal, and any danger that will come in way of Dev has to pass through Radhika first............Kanha himself have blessed their union..........It was Kanha who had returned Radhika to Dev, as they are MEANT to be together....So, nothing will happen to Dev........
Sandeepa, you had asked in your comments whether, the evil intentions of Shantanu will be nullified.......I think the answer lies in the episode itself...........Govind Gopal song, is the answer........And yes, I think this will be stopped, before any damage is done...........Just by lighting Dev ke naam ka deeya, Radhika was able to stop any hurdle coming in Dev's way (remember the deeya, and the near accident of Dev, which was saved at the last minute........This time also, Radhika's Sindoor will be like a dhaal and will protect Dev against all evil................
