Yes, I'm pretty sure the nurse is out to make some money and is waiting for Shan to get the Purohit wealth and prestige so that she can have her slice of the pie. But I do not think she is his real mother, I think Vaishali is.

I too think that Shan is the real Purohit child - Because if he is not, the question about the 3rd child's existence will remain open - Which means that CVs will need to introduce the real 3rd child at some point in time - Which also means that the new son will be shown as evil since he was destined to be so - Which would be way toooo much co-incidence!
