radev_forever,
I agree to some part of your post and not all.

Yes, it was good that they are trying to show Shantanu as a child born to Vaishali and Snr Purohit and not any illegitimate child of either of them.
It is yet to be seen what was the entire truth was, until then I wouldn't say if she did it for family or for herself.

But I don't really think Vaishali has done things for the 'happiness of family'. She has always mentioned about 'prestige of family', now happiness and prestige are 2 different things. Happiness of the family means "sacrifice" and in Prestige of the family you are worried about the outlook of the family in the society.

If I think back, when Radhika told her 1st marriage truth, it was Vaishali who was more easily forgiving Radhika than Dadi. This also shows that Vaishali had a secret of her own.

I do not want to see Shantanu develop a soft corner for Radhika so that Dev feels possessive about her. I would like to see Radhika develop affection for Shantanu and help him be accepted by family. Since she was orphaned, she should know how it feels to be an orphan and be abondoned by real parents. Radhika should make Dev understand that. If I want to see anything between Radhika and Shantanu, that would be respect for each other.

Nicely said, Bee. I agree with you here. Radhika and Shantanu are kindred spirits and if anyone can understand Shantanu's reason for hating his mother out of hurt and abandonment, it is surely Radhika (although Radhika is not a hater and has never been shown to have bitter feelings about her birth parents or about being abandoned). I don't want to see Dev act petty and jealous and be mean to Radhika. I think he has some growing up to do and he should try to trust his wife and understand her reasons for bringing Shantanu to PB (especially since he himself brought Vishaka to PB and expected Radhika to understand and be o.k. with it). You are absolutely right...CVs should show mutual respect and understanding between Shantanu and Radhika...after all she is his bhabhi and in Indian culture the bhabhi is equivalent to the mother. Yes, she is younger than him, but still that untainted respect should be there. CVs would make a big mistake if they portray Shantanu looking at Radhika with lustful intentions.

Interesting point A_D brought out I am also aware of this Sandhya Twilight time between evening and night is also known as asur sandhya and children conceived at this time are known to be asurs or having the guna of asurs.and that time is supposed to be a strict no no time for ahem ahem if u r planning to have children. But that is not relevant here as a curse is involved for Shantanu to be abandoned and Vaishali should have taken penance and asked the rishi to forgive her so that her child is not affected of lessened the curse.

Vaishali is more society conscious and worried about traditions bordering on rigidity hence her behaviour is usually more politically correct so less humanitarian or reforming.

To persuade Dev and keep him in good humour may be like Misti says circles we will see more of romantic Rad trying to put finger on her lips and trying to hug Dev when no one is there😆😉😳
