You see...I wrote it 3 days ago...

I think Shantanu is the son of vaishali and Sr. Purohit. When he was born, his horoscope was made and it was written there that he will be the cause of destruction of the family. That is why the bhrigu shastra came. listening to this, the purohits abandoned him. Now he knows his reality and came back for revenge. He did say that to radhika...that's why radhika was shocked. and she went to check the bhrigu shastra if really the purohits have 3 sons.

FYI: in reality bhrigu shastra is not just one book. It was in nalanda university in Bihar and when the muslim invaders came they destroyed the bhrigu shastra. Most of it is destroyed and some pieces are with some brahmins now all over india.

Hey babu2008, nice to see you on the forum!

I like your theory about the PF having 3 sons. That would be a good way for the CVs to save Vaishali's reputation, otherwise she would become characterless if she is shown to have had a fling and become pregnant before or during her marriage to senior RP. And by making Shan a legitmitate Purohit, he would actually have a reason to want to challenge Dev's RPship. If he was just an illegitimate kid of Vaishali's by some other man he would not be entitled to any of the Purohit wealth or power. I like how you tied in the part about the Brighu Sastra into your theory. Many of us assumed that what Radhika was reading in the Brighu Sastra pertained to Dev's horoscope, but she could have very well been reading about Shantanu.

this has to be the plot...otherwise as u said if shantanu only vaishali's son, then he can't claim on purohit properties. Shantanu is the eldest son of purohits.

Because he knows Dev's weakness is Radhika and Radhika's weakness is her dharam.

I was thinking on same lines bout little different.

He can be purohit's elder son. As vikram was doing selling orphan kids... purohits had to give up their own child to feel the pain... or something like that.

or some type of punishment... once Shantanu would realize that he would not be upset. He would actually save family from all the things that chachu is doing.

I think if they are bringing Shantanu as a real purohit a legitimate son of Vaishali and Sr Purohit than I think that has much more potential.

But some how it does not fit well with me that due to bad horoscope one would give up the child. and shantanu seems to be younger than Vivek but older than Dev as there is almost 10 years difference between vivek and Dev..

And I also think that if they make him Vaishali's child than he cannot be purohit and does not have any rights to take what Dev has.

But if he is a Purohit and was given up due to destructive future occurance than it is obvious that he will come back to take revenge and fulfill his destiny so why would you give him up???

But When Vaishali started bad mouth Shantanu's mother he got real mad. So if he knows Vaishali is his mom he would not be angry but would scoff at Vaishali.. Rudely he just kicked them out of his house!!!!

So let's see how they unfold.. The spoiler does say that he is Vaishali's son -- So than some dark secrete of the Purohits may come out.

Interesting take.. so, Vaishali dumped her kid because his horoscope was bad and that makes Shantanu a legitmitate Purohit.

What if Vaishali dumped Shantanu and picked up Dev instead from a sidewalk ? You think that can happen ?

I stopped thinking about this show .. because, nothing that I think ever happens in CB.

But, babu2008 I am sure I will like your take on this .. better then the creative's ..and we have to wait until they decide what they want to do with Shantanu.

Hope they read your post and get some ideas .
