Interview : Amit Sana singing tunes for Sun Zarra

Excerpts from the Interview:

How does it feel to be a playback singer in Bollywood?

Being a new comer I definitely feel great to get the opportunity to sing in Bollywood films. I've never thought that I would become a Bollywood singer and start my career here so young and at this point of time. I just consider it as a miracle and thank my destiny for it.

How did 'Sun ZarraEhappen to you?

The film came to me immediately after the Indian Idol contest. I met Salim the producer of the film. He offered me the chance to sing for his film and I didn't want to miss the opportunity. So I got the film.

How did you find singing for the film?

The film has a young and new star cast. So my voice was apt for the lead cast. I didn't have to mould my voice and this made my task easier. If you sing for a veteran singer there is a bit of challenge involved there. You need to take into criteria his style and voice and sing it accordingly. As I'm new to the field it would have made my task harder. Here I just sang freewheeling.

Are you happy with the way the music has turned up for the film?

Music director Sandesh Shandaliya has come out with beautiful scores. And I tell this genuinely not because I'm a part of this film. As it is a love story, there are more romantic songs going with the film. All the songs are really good. I also like the song by Bombay Vikings. It's a lovely number and also my favorite from the album. I also like 'Sun ZarraEand 'Unse Nazare MiliE I've done four songs in the album.

Also in the film the protagonist is a singer. Do you see yourself in the character?

You have also come out with your own album. Singing for a film or singing for an album, which do you find more difficult?

Singing for an album is easier than to do playback. When you do playback singing you need to keep the film and the characters in your mind. You are lending your voice to someone and it should work in co-ordination. It is really difficult.

What are the other films you are singing for?

Actually this is my first film as a singer but 'KalyugEreleased former to this. I've already signed 'Ek Tha DeewanaEand talks are going for another film.
