Agle janam mohe bitiya hii kijo is a 'REALISTIC' drama but in recent days I've been wondering that what Effect is/will this have on the Viewers?? No wonder this show is Popular not only in Urban areas but in Rural areas as well as it's a Rural story so it's Very Very Important that the Shows Spread a Progressive message which can Improve the mindset of Some people in the Society...Instead this show puts a STRESS Upon the fact that a MALE WAARIS/HEIR is Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo important that there are fights, even Murders and bigamy for Male Heir and also a Father doesn't Hesitate to kill His own Daughters out of frustration as his Own father doesn't Consider His granddaughters good enough to be Heitr to their Thakur-Family?!

They are even Showing that the 'New woman' brought in the family in fact was Better than The infertile-Bahu ....So the Head of the Family's decision was Correct to get another 'Bride' for his Son to get a Male heir from Him n the Other Woman....
Isn't it a bit Toooo much in a Society as in India which already Prefers Male Heir and Female foeticide/infanticide is Skyrocketing?? Where already Bahus are Taunted and tortured for Not having children or for not having Male children?????????????
I think it's better the TV Channels make more Shows showing importance of Betiis,Betiis being Succesful and looking after parents than such shows where they keep on Yelling and yearning for Male WAARIS and they Show that once Loha-Sekhar Comes to know that Laali is going to give them a Male-waaris... all the hatred, anger for her vanishes...So Giving a MALE HEIR to the Family is the ONLY Way to Glory for a Married Woman in an Indian Society??!!!!!

well there are many shows on tv which portray girl power, and promote girls as a "better choice".
but we can't have every show focusing on giving this message and ignoring the reality. They have to present both sides of the story, families like loha's exist, so they are simply portraying that in this show. waaris is the sub-plot in this show, the main issue was laali, a girl who has been sold. so in the long run, they r going to give us a message of how a girl fights through all these difficulties, but yet she is soo strong internally that she wants to be a girl again in the next birth. waaris issue is the requirement of the plot, so they can't deter from that in order to give a social message.

I agree with the post creator completely! Indian TV is completely regressive nowadays. In the name of social awareness, they are giving all kinds of backward, regressive messages!
Male heir is the ultimate goal in this show! Iss des naa aana Laado! which is all abt female infanticide, both shows pretend to be message oriented yet merely exploit and sensationalize all the evil customs in rural India!
Even Sony has become regressive, with shows like God Bharai (where the heroine is taunted as barren for not producing kids and then lately gets a boy child from somewhere) Mind u, a BOY CHILD!
And a new show coming up....Toh baat pakki.....about how a girl's ultimate aim in life is to get married, the girl being told not to study so much but learn chulah chakki to please sasural ppl, not to play in the sun or she will get dark, the girl being dressed to be presented to prospective groom and his family!
Is that a wonderful story or what? 😆
But I agree with Gur also to some extent! Evil like that does happen in rural areas, girls being sold to rich landlords to be a mistress!
Especially in Bihar which was once called the "Cesspool of the nation" by some great leader.
Anything can happen in Bihar, anything! 🤢
