hello!!đ just found this article ..I think its not posted before !! Meet Dr Shashank |
Veteran film and TV actor Mohnish Bhel has been an important character in STAR One's long running medical romantic drama, Dill Mil Gayye. This son of well known Bollywood actress Nutan has also acted in a large number of movies which include Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and Baagi... Here are excerpts of an interview with Mohnish on the set of DMG⌠|
You have been playing Dr. Shashank for many years now. He was a continuation from Sanjeevni. How would you describe him?
He is a very good and a talented doctor. For him, his patient's welfare is above everything. He is quite a strict disciplinarian, as the work space is such that you can't afford goof ups. He does not even spare his daughter. That also was one of the reasons why he did not like Armaan at first. On the personal front though Shashank strictly follows principles, he is more forgiving about others, for he knows that no two people are alikeâŚ
Over the years, what has been the audience feedback regarding your character?
They are quite fond of me! The older generation support Shashank's point of view on children. But the younger lot of audiences doesn't like his benevolent strictness. Even my daughter sometimes tells me that that she can see a lot of me in Shashank and asks me to take a chill pill! But she also realizes that the children are wrong sometimes and do require correct guidanceâŚ
What do you think has worked with the show?
The youthful flavor and the romanceâŚ
Have you followed any international medical series? Can we compare DMG with them?
Yes, l like ER. It covers hard core medical issues and also the personal lives of the interns and surgeons. Our show on the other hand, concentrates more on the love affairs and relationships issues of interns. The hospital serves only as a backdrop. The setting could easily have been a law firm or some other professional institution. Personally, I would want the creatives to show more of the medical side of Sanjeevni (name of the hospital) as well. This way, we can get more themes to play around with. But again, the fact that the show is number one on the channel proves that the production house/channel know what they are doingâŚ
How has your equation been with all the three actresses essaying Riddhima?
Good. I always maintain professional equations with all my co stars. For if you allow personal emotions to come in the way, it harms your output.
Speaking of mixing personal and professional, you had anchored a marriage show on STAR Plus. How was that?
I greatly enjoyed STAR Vivah because I don't come from a background where marriages are arranged. Plus most of the people on that show had gone through a lot in life. Agreed, the show did not enjoy very good ratings, but the fact that one of our matches did translate into matrimony gives me great satisfaction. I sincerely hope that the channel thinks of coming up with season 2, for the concept has great potential and can provide good service to society.
How would you describe your long film career?
It has had its ups and downs in terms of choice of films, volume of work and money. I may not have got lead roles, but character artists also play a pivotal role in the narrative. I have also got to work with the best in the industry. I wish to thank everybody for my pleasant stay here.As far as television goes, it is only Dill Mill Gayye. But I have a couple of projects on the big screen, let's hope they work out.
How do you see television vis-a-vis films?
The small screen took centrestage in the late nineties when cinema was going through creative bankruptcy and television offered great stuff like Amanat, Hasratein and so on. But now things are reversing again. Cinema is offering differentiated content. I have had a decent enough run in television. Some of my other fiction shows besides DMG include, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasturi and Kayamath.
Has your lineage helped you get work?
Yes. I am very proud to be the legendary Nutan's son. Apart from the acting genes, her goodwill in the industry has given me a standing in the industry.
plsssssssssssssssssssssssss replyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!đ
