Sushma's godh bharai is this weekend, and with it comes a greater sinking of a realization that she'll have her baby in a few days. Until recently, she had made good plans for the baby - to adopt it out to Sarika. However, last night's episode seemed to introduce her having second thoughts on this.

Supporting her decision to adopt out the baby, she argued to her father and Jyoti that once it grows up, it would be subjected to taunts from others about its father being a criminal. Sushma made it clear then that she'd do whatever she could to prevent that from happening. Besides, she's been accepting money from Sarika for her meds, and has been building their hopes up. This could provide the necessary pressure to go ahead w/ her decision.
However, yesterday, she had that strange encounter w/ a boy in a park who was lost, and when time came to say bye to him, she was feeling sad. (This part was strange - that's not a normal reaction of people). Also, reason Sushma hasn't made Sarika public is that she knows that her family is not likely to be supportive of this decision, and that Padma & Jyoti, in particular, are likely to oppose it. So when the baby is born, her own emotions, and her family pressure, could combine to encourage her to take that route.

What do you think she'll do? Will she keep her promise and hand over the baby to Sarika, or will she go back on her word and keep it to make her family happy?

Exit question: Do you think Jyoti might change her mind and follow Sushma's example, when she sees the reasoning behind it?

after watching yesterdays episode i think that she is on verge of breaking her promise and that could be easily seen when she feels the boys pain when he gets hurt in the garden whom she met only for a few seconds and how she could break 9 months relation with her own baby.

well i think sushma will rethink bt in the end might follow thru..bt jyoti???no chance...she wl doom her baby in sharmas' heaven/hell for life..unless she moves into the sisodia palace by then..

Today, Sushma finally got her opportunity to get Jyoti aside and tell her about her plans to adopt out her baby. When Jyoti was going to take her to school and they were debating whether she should go or not given that Brij was now loose, Sushma called Jyoti separately into her room and locked the door. There she took courage, kept Jyoti from saying anything and firmly told her that in the best interests of her baby, she has decided that on its being born, she would adopt it out. Jyoti was absolutely stunned - as though someone had punched her in the stomach 😕

But Jyoti, Sushma has made the right decision, and what she's decided took courage, given, as she put it, that no mother can manage to do this. She's decided to give that baby to a family who are far more capable of taking good care of her than Jyoti is. By making this sacrifice, Sushma is demonstrating herself to be an even better mom than could be imagined. Aside from the fact that Brij will be around, there is the problem that this baby would be a burden on a family which is not going to be happy w/ its presence, once the dust settles down. Imagine Deepu & Poonam having a baby: that baby too will have needs, and the family will have to support 3 kids, maybe 4 if this continues.

By making this decision, Sushma has made this practically easy for everybody - first & foremost her baby, but even aside from that, herself & her family. W/o that baby, it'll be easier for her to focus on her studies and future career: if she's lucky enough to one day find a decent guy who loves her, she can once again experience the joys of being a mother, w/o the pain that she'd have incurred w/ the present baby. And this baby will be happy, as will its adoptive parents - Sarika & hubby.

Only thing I disagree w/ Sushma in the previous segment - she should not drop the idea of school just b'cos of this decision. It's not just for the baby that she needs to work - she needs to work for herself as well, and as long as she's in her maayka, for her family as well. That would ease the financial burden on Jyoti, and whenever he gets a job, Deepu as well. It would also leave Jyoti free to move on w/ Kabir, which Sushma too seems to support, and it also opens the door for Sushma to fend for herself in case she never gets anybody.

So Jyoti, stop reeling, and recognize the fact that your little sis has made a mature decision, stripped of all emotional baggage.
