I do not consider all of them useless- traditions are used as a guidance to people- they teach people how to act morally and ethically and should be used in a sincere manner- the portrayal of traditions in DMG is degrading to be honest- she is told to "accept" (by Shanky- the samaaj will blame u) it and Armaan is told to "accept" it too (from Riddhima- yeh meri sachai hai Armaan).....Traditions should act a moral guidance to people and not be coerced in matters for the sake of them honestly.
I am very open minded- I respect them- but they should be used in the right context- as in- they should be used to help people- not force them (since Riddhima is always talking abour Sachai- to herself and to Armaan as well- damn it)

That is the only distinction I have- Traditions are good if they help people- but they really are a burden (from my POV) if they coerce and force people into something- coz that is not why they are set in society- their purpose and intention is to form order and create peace (with individuals and society)- so they should be used in an sporting manner- and not coerced- because it will honestly be a shame to see Indian customs like that (no offence- I m Indian too- but this is my POV)
