I think the reason why they are chopping now is
not bcos they are trying to catch up. It is bcos CB is a prime time show in the US (it comes at 9 pm) and is one of the highest watched shows ... hence it gets more advertising revenue ... which means more commercials and less time for the show to be aired
Though CB continues to be in the Top 10 in India, it is not the top among Zee Tv shows in India .. also it is not in prime time ... so commercials may be fewer.
Zee has to figure out how to deal with this problem ... it will be an ongoing problem if the show continues to do well in the US compared to India. Zee will not want to let go of the revenue from commercials but they may need to extend this show to 35 or 40 minutes and cut down the time for other shows that are not doing as well here compared to India.
They really risk losing their audience ... their show is badly edited to start with ... now you have another layer of bureaucracy with a bunch of scissors chopping away whatever they want to, possibly trying to cut 5 to 10 minutes of the show to accommodate commercials
