R is established as the blend of modernity and tradition. She is gentle, affectionate and warm, yet can be strong, firm and decisive when she feels it is required.
Now, the concept of marriage is one to understand. It is a serious commitment, and one should go for it only when they are prepared. They should not be pressurized. If that happens then it has large probability of becoming a lifelong compromise. Everyone has the right to be happy. With a lifelong compromise, no one will ever be happy.
Now let's look at R. People claim that she no longer has any feelings for A. But why is it that when he tells her that he will leave, she is so upset, why is it that she can not meet his gaze. Let me ask you something, can you forget the person for whom you took a bullet in a mere 6 months-1yr? I don't think so, esp if that someone was your fiance whom you know had to go because your father asked him to. Now she asks shanky to tell A to go away -> Why because she feels awful that she can't be with him, and she knows he gets hurt seeing that she is wearing sindoor in someone else's name.
so why didn't she ask for divorce in the first place? Well first we got Shanky the great who preaches something and does something else himself. At the time of his second marriage, why didn't he think of what society would say - Betiyon ki shaadi chhod apni shaadi kar raha hai!
Yet, all of a sudden he becomes society's guardian when comes to R! Hippocrite I tell you!
Ok, maybe R shouldn't have called Sid whatever she called him, maybe she should have kept low, and asked her dad to transfer her to somewhere far, like Anji, maybe go to the USA. That way she could have been a lil at peace., and avoid all teh crap that happened afterwards. She could have given Dr.Keerti, Niki, and Atul her contacts in USA, and if A would have ever come back, he would know how to find her. Perhaps she could have continued her search for A by being far far away from Sanjeevni.
And Sid-R's marriage.Well, the circumstances were such that this happened. However, with Sid mistreating R, how would any sane person expect that R would forget A? She would subconsciously compare the behavior of both, and the balance would tilt in A's favor. Now how she cried to Shanky to stop the divorce; well she had found a good friend in Sid (kal ho na ho), so she feels upset that again someone wants to leave her. That's why she says this to Shanky Papa! also point to note, she was carrying A's pic in all the wedding rasams. symbolically she was marrying herself with A's memories.
Now even if we forget all this, Sid's behavior when he manhandled and hurt R, was enough to sign the papers. I mean Sid you first send the divorce papers (granted R shouldn't have sent them through Armaan), then you insult your wife's ex-fiance when you were fully aware of her past, and then you ill-treat her hurting her physically. I don't know if I can deal with physical abuse in such a relation. Whenever A held R, he always backed off when he realized that R was getting hurt. Watch DMG1, and you will see that.
So now, R stand up for yourself, don't let Shanky Papa overrule your decisions. Think what you want. Think what makes you happy. Stay strong, and decide what's best for you (and please pick A, why are you punishing both yourself and A!!!)
