KAREENA KAPOOR
Arguably the best experience I've had working with an actor. She hasn't killed me the last 10 times I met for not casting her in Love Aaj Kal so it's all good between us. It was an extremely satisfying experience working with her in Jab We Met. She is all heart. She can make mistakes of judgment when she uses her mind. But when she uses her heart she is so pure that she can do almost anything. I love her.
SHAHID KAPOOR
A thinker. Sometimes he thinks too much. He is an extremely positive-minded guy. He was very good to me personally. He may be younger than me but when it comes to films, he has a lot more experience than I do. After Jab We Met was ready for release he gave me some really valuable advice. He told me never to fix my price before my film was out. He was like, "I am telling you because you are stupid about things like this, wait to see how the movie fares. Don't fix your price now." And thanks to him I think I got a little more money than I would have ideally for Love Aaj Kal. He was the first guy to believe that Jab We Met could be a hit, ahead of me, ahead of Kareena, ahead of anyone else. And he was right. He has a powerful mind. We are very chatty with each other. Shahid and I can get into a seven hour conversation over tea.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE
Deepika is the warmest, most perceptive, sensitive soul I know. She doesn't have the snootiness you generally associate with supermodels. She is very real. On the contrary she feels inferior to other people. I was surprised when I realised that. She has a lot of diffidence. She is very straightforward and very giving. She is always surprised to know people can give her affection. She always gives more affection than she receives. She always has this silent smile when she is looking at you and then you know she has seen something that others may not have. She will go the distance for you.
RISHI KAPOOR
Rishi Kapoor is very fond me because I eat red meat. He is the most experienced actor I have worked with and we found a way of communicating with each other. I always felt I was working with someone my age because there was lot of honesty in our dealings. I was very clear that I didn't want to tell him how to act, I could tell him what my film was about and he could respond. He never once questioned me or patronised me. He made sure I got exactly what I was expecting out of him. He never once gave me the feeling that he knows the way and I don't. It felt really good that someone like him was in my film and watching over me because if I made a mistake he would tell me. I am extremely fond of him. He reminds me of so many people in my family. He met my dad and they got along famously.
