Intrigued by the title of my post today? Well, I wrote what I felt after watching today's episode: SMOTHERED!
I felt really bad for Ridz today. Poor girl is being smothered completely by everyone in her life.
She is like a bird whose feathers have been chopped off repeatedly and despite being injured, she is trying her best to fly out of the pinjara.
SID:
What can I say about him? I still cannot fathom that this man has changed from a selfless, sacrificing man to an aggressive, jealous, possessive man in one day.
As I have said before, selflessness comes with no expectations but when there is expectation, it's not selflessness but dishonesty.
His behavior with Ridz was appalling today. I for one, hate men who try to use their physical power over women. I did not find anything sexy or drool worthy over the SR scene. Ridz, even to an untrained and unbiased eye, looked visibly disgusted and resistant to his physical aggression. Where is the man who promised, "i will always be there with you....you are free to choose what you want to do....congratulations Armaan, at least you have found your love...etc etc?"
If Sid feels that he can 'win her over' by physical aggression, he is sadly mistaken because NO self respecting woman likes to be treated like this.
RIDZ:
As I mentioned earlier, she is a tadapti huyi pankh kati bulbul right now who is dying to set herself free from all the shackles around her.
I was very happy when she asked Sid to leave after he taunted her with the ex boyfriend jab. Her glare and her desire to see him leave said it all- how could he point fingers at her when she had never done anything wrong? Pointing fingers at your wife is the worst thing for a failing marriage- mistrust as a foundation? Is this what some people are calling unconditional love?
Ridz has signed all the papers but looks like they won't go to court. So, a divorce in limbo? What does that mean? She is technically divorced but not officially divorced??? I don't understand the Cvs here.
SHANKY:
As expected, he intervened and crushed any hopes of rebellion or decisiveness from Riddhima's side. Whenever Shanky raises his voice, poor Ridz becomes a little school girl again and just lowers her head obediently. That's why she did not respond to his seven month plea.
Shanky, please try to understand the pain in your daughter's eyes. Yes, divorce done in haste is wrong but even a wedding done in haste is wrong. Why did you not stop her from getting married on an impulse? Why didn't you ask Ridz to give it 6 months before you jumped into saath pheras with a man you didn't love and a marriage you didn't want?
Are you really her well wisher?
ARMAAN:
Kitne bhi tu kar le sitam, hans hans ke sahenge hum.....yeh pyaar na hoga kam...
That's this poor man's destiny. A little flicker of hope from Shanky's phone call came down crashing as soon as Shanky made him feel guilty about being responsible for SR divorce. How heartless of Shanky to ask Armaan to talk to Ridz?
Poor Armaan, Nana is his soul savior right now. Armaan doesn't deserve to be treated like this every time. He is not Shanky's personal servant. Shanky feels Armaan is like his son, but does he forget he was almost his son in law? Would Shanky like to be in Armaan's shoes? I bet not!
The precap came as a breath of fresh air- Armaan actually questioned Shanky about Riddhima's choice and her desire to attain real happiness. I really hope Armaan refuses to play cupid again and instead tries to convince Riddhima that her happiness lies with him and not anyone else.
By the end of the episode, I felt so smothered and really felt like abducting Ridz and Armaan from this suffocating environment.
I wonder why we all watch this show that makes us so stressed and suffocated? After a long day at work, I want to watch something mindless (yes DMG fits that bill) and relaxing (DMG is stressful beyond words)...maybe watching repeats of Rishta.com are a better option.
Phew...anyways...my hope for future episodes:
1. Ridz refuses to prolong her agony and marriage by another 7 months or whatever Shanky has suggested. Doesn't Shanky realize that it's easier to break it now when things haven't gotten out of hand yet, by postponing the inevitable, he is making everyone more miserable. Problems don't go away by burying them, they just come back as a bigger monster.
2.Armaan refuses to play cupid. Instead, wins his love back for the sake of all three characters.
BTW, why does a marriage need so many cupids? Armaan...Shanky....Tamanna (little girl).....intern....the list goes on. Maybe the answer lies in the marriage itself- it is not meant to be.
